To be honest Rov, and I like a good a joke as much as anyone, esp on April fools, but this is a shitty joke to pull on your fan base you are trying to build up, let alone to f*ck with people who paid you cash in advance already. This clearly is not a legit release of the game, as all the audio tracks I checked are garbage with laughing and shit, and chainsaws, etc, and anyone taking the time to burn it off will be irked to find they wasted time and a disc in doing so. There are better and far wiser ways to promote a project, and this is not one of them.

Yeah honestly I wish you'd never even gave me a link to this garbage. Such a f*cking waste of my time checking the audio tracks out, let alone wasting Quoths time after I gave him a link to it.

Well, since some people have no sense of humor, I've taken it down. I hope you're happy. This was the first time I've ever even attempted an AFD joke, and I thought it came out pretty well. Oh well. f*ck you.

Wait... wait... Some people got concerned that your joke was in bad taste and were bothered by it and your response is "f*ck you?" You gambled and lost. Sometimes it happens. For those who were bothered, you're just adding insult to injury.

My advice is that the best April Fools jokes are the good-natured ones, like what Google does, where it's obvious it's a joke right up front and is silly and humorous. This one felt a little more mean-spirited, even if it wasn't intended that way. If you prefer your AF jokes that way, you gotta expect some backlash. Especially given that many people have given you money.

I think what I sent to you in pm just now sums it up nicely:

This is a example of how you do a April Fools joke the right way:

http://1000words.kodak.com/thousandwords/post/?ID=5558724772984513411&utm_source=www.kodak.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=AprilFools_040112&utm_campaign=Corp-Homepage

What you did was just f*cked up. Maybe you guys sat around privately thinking it was going to be a laugh riot, but its not. With money being tight for some people right now, and all the other stressful bullshit going on in the world, people don't need this kind of crap going on, and not everyone is keen on the whole April Fools gag stuff. Sorry, just how it is. Making your potential fan base stress over money and shit from worrying about possible pre-order refund dilemmas, and treating them with a garbage release as a joke, its not f*cking cool, no matter what day of the year it is. Its not just bad taste, its one of the worst things you can do to your customers right now. Especially the ones who do not post here who may not get the heads up that it was a dumb joke...

I took it down. It's over. OK? Sheesh. Sorry for the "f*ck you", but I'm not exactly a prankster, nor a diplomat... just a coder who saw the humor in it.

I didn't know about this either and thought it was funny lol. Plus if you actually play it there's some good news in it.

Wasn't this the same place Ark had Insanity pressed at?  What was different that they got his pressed?

The original issue the manufacturer had is not a joke.

It's the same reason commercial PCE games can't be factory pressed anymore and Animeforever has had to switch to cdrs. Insanity was formatted differently and the masters were made a special way. Hopefully if the MSR master is done similarly, the same place can reproduce it as well.

I didn't think it was that bad of a joke...

Next year I may try to one-up Rover by molesting everyone's children/mothers, so that way at least you will be forgiven.  Lighten up folks!

DEAR LORD PEOPLE!

Even if you didn't see how gloriously hilarious this was (my dearest sympathies for your fragile soul), you knew it was April 1.

I love Helgeson (sp? it's been a long time), but he totally over-reacted. We have bigger things in life to worry about than the status of MSR.

As a fellow member has said, "Lighten the fck up!"

I didn'tsee it but it must have been fun.

BTW TOR, we're having a retrogaming convention in France with a big PCE stand. Do you think it you could send us a copy of MSR so that we can make a presentation of it?
