I knew it was too good to be true!

I am patient, of course. It's all good.

We're no closer than before. Apparently, the discs ended up passing QA just fine (they stopped trying to put it into iTunes... f*cking dipshits, I swear) but now there's a new "issue". I think we're done with these jokers.

This is the email I got from them:

""Keelan, here is the latest from our replication department.

I'm not sure if this would mean anything to you but here it is...
It seems to be something more than Data/Audio issues

Any ideas, OldMan?

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Describe the entire CD creation and burn process that was used this time.

This basically sounds like the same error.

Just a guess......

6000 would be the 10 sec mark. The overlap is 1 sec long.
Assuming the 2 sec initial gap, and an 8 sec warning, that puts us at the data track.

Did you set the pregap for the data track to 00:03:00  (ie, 3 seconds).
Don't forget, you have to adjust the other tracks after that, too, so the times are right.

But that's just my guess....

yeah.  I should have specified, that a cue sheet (as part of the steps taken for this current build), is important.

see if you can coax them into some more specifics on the errors going on.

-Build the ISO with isolink2.
-Mount the ISO solo with Alcohol 120%.
-Rip the ISO to a BIN file with CDRWIN.
-Burn the new disc with Alcohol 120% in DAO/SAO mode at 4X (the lowest my burner goes).

Pretty simple. The data track is configured for a 3 second pregap and a 2 second postgap, as per the standard.

I vote you make a one-off little demo game called Pregap McGee in Legend of the Hidden Overlap.

This should be fixable pretty painlessly.

Have you considered doing the "Stuff it all in one huge file and hand-roll the times" approach?

Just a heads-up... I am seriously considering doing an Xbox 360 remake of this game (yeah, a remake of a remake) but aside from the cutscenes, it would not look anything like the PCE version. A lot of people have been asking for it for awhile now, and now that I actually have a machine to test such a thing on, I might just make it a reality. However, it would get a graphical overhaul, and perhaps even some new areas and side-quests. We'll see what happens over the next few weeks. :)

Oh... and no new news on the pressing yet. Working with TheOldMan to get the cue automake utility fully working.

First thing would be to get the TG version sorted out to completion (including finalizing and shipping the discs out to customers), and then worry about this Xbox 360 version. Just what I think anyway.

Obviously. :P I have other things lined up in 360-land first anyway... gonna be doing a vertical cute-em-up with a very unorthodox theme. :D But I don't have to be concerned with the PCE version 24/7... things happen when they happen, and in the meantime, I've got other things to do. I am not the kind of person to dwell on one particular issue... if it can't be fixed at the moment, worrying about it and doing nothing else is a complete waste of time.

Oh, and another update... there was a problem with the first audio track that was causing the autocue program to have issues. All's fixed on that front now, so we have a new cue file. Just ironing out one final detail.

sweet! hope i didn't come off as being rude. a lot of people tend to take on more than they can do at once and then everything suffers. :)

yeah, the new cuesheet diddler helps.  lol

Speaking of all of this crap

did you think of asking Nationwide for any sort of semi-refund?  If you paid for some fast turnaround that hasn't happened, you might be able to.
