We won't know until Friday, at the earliest. It's always possible there is still something that needs fixed.
But if that is the case, we -will- fix it as soon as possible. Promise.

Dunno yet. Their latest message didn't inspire much hope, as they are still ignorant of the unorthodox track layout.

Received this email last Friday:

"Keelan,

My apologies! I just got word that the new masters are giving us the same issues as the last ones and have failed. At this point I'm not sure how to proceed.

Please see below.

It is formatted very strange.
I cannot get it to open the original file folder. When you try to open, it thinks it’s an audio disc. So if this is supposed to be a game, then something is definitely not right.

Sincerely,
Brian"

I responded reassuring the CD is supposed to be formatted that way and it's expected for the audio tracks to play when inserted into a PC or stereo. We should be able to find out if there are any replication errors next week.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Dear customer,

Your disc read as an audio disc

Do I know what I am doing

Maybe they think you are trying make something for the X-box. Just tell them to try and write it as an audio disc, and send a test copy back to you. If they could do so I wouldn't give them mind about the context. I am pretty sure in a command line world, this damn thing would read as an audio file, if it was 1984.

Did you include any kind of letter of explanation with the new masters? It seems like you're hitting a huge communication breakdown and trying to reinvent the wheel everytime you contact them. Any correspondence with these guys should include a lengthy introduction/FAQ with plenty of quotes and history of what's gone before.

But in all fairness, that was 3 years ago. Apparently, their 'quality control' has improved :).

[Seriously, it seems like they have gone the way of many others, and can't handle anything even a little out of the ordinary. ]

Apparently, every time you send a new master, they start all over. Without any memory of what went before.
But with luck, there will only be 1 more "this is screwed up....No, it's supposed to be like that" round.
I forget what the second round actually was, but it had something to do with the audio layout...

And I think if 'Brian' ever gets this actually pressed, we should all e-mail him our thanks.
And ask if he's ready to do another one :)
