At this point, it's gonna be an entire week since we got an update... it's now Friday.

Have you already paid them for their services?

I would be calling whoever is in charge of the entire facility.

Just called Nationwide and spoke to our project manager. Wasn't able to talk to the replication team directly, but Brian did tell me that the replicators did find success with one of the master copies but are still confused with something. I told Brian to reassure his team that the formating is correct, it's for a very old format, and that it's to be expected for it to play audio tracks when inserted into a PC or CD player despite being a video game.

Brian told me he was preparing an email to go out to me today. He sounded like a nice guy on the phone, if that helps us at all :P .

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Man, you guys have really been through some shit with this game. It'll all work out tho, I have faith.

Not really a fan of RPGs, but I'll definitely pick it up due to the sheer amount of work you guys put into it. And appreciate it  And cuz I'm a big fan of homebrew

....And you're on to round 2. Now you have to convince them there isn't a problem. Hopefully, the cutter will be able to use the disc. If so, you're home free.
.....If not, we fix the problem (once they tell us what it is) and start again with "It doesn't play in a CD player". <sigh>

He sounded like a nice guy on the phone,

That's his job, to be nice. Would help if he were more technically inclined, though.

Looks like you may see a release before the end of the summer, though :)

so the holdup is creating the CDs? Why can't they just be burned to regular CDRs on a home computer and then have the labels etched on?

Because CDRs are comparatively shit, especially with a lightscribe label.

He also mentioned something on the phone about how there may be some issue with their company using newer replication software for our old software, but he doesn't know anything about the technical details. We'll wait and see what the email says.

TG/PCE CD and Duo systems can be very picky with CD-Rs and may misalign the lasers. Meteor Blaster was burned to silver CD-Rs and many people had problems running it on their systems. Plus replication is more authentic and professional, we won't settle for less unless we absolutely have to.

NEC hardware generally does not play well with CDRs. They cause lasers to jam among other issues if they play at all. Since this is a commercial release a glass mastered disc would be best.

Brian Rowe is who we have. PM me your job# if you still have it too, that might be useful if they're still having problems.
