a fun machine that breaks down on everyone.Sucks.And there are not many of the supposed fun games you talk about, unless you like rail shooters and over budgeted cg games that are really basic. The only thing I ever wanted to see on it was the JB Harold Murder club sequel, and the Myst prototype run.Its a collectable, but not worth the cash spent.Too many problems with the hardware,as you have just pointed out by stating yours died. For the cash spent you could end up with a couple reliable Duo-Rs,or Briefcase systems, and a Sega/Mega CD combo easy. But whatever floats your boat. How many laseractive decks are you willing to put cash out on?I will admit, long ago I had wanted one, untill I was offered 2 barly working units, then I reserched it a bit,and learned of all the breakdown problems it has,and how its very unrepairable for the most part, and that Pioneer wont touch the thing repair wise, even though they repair about any other LD player still.I was basically told by a Pioneer repair tech that if I get one, consider myself lucky if it works, and when it dies,to consider myself lucky too,and not buy another one.Its a catch 22 gaming system. If you lived in the US,you could get one easy, they go cheap on ebay, under 200 bucks, but shipping outside the US will kill you,and probably the player too. There is a ton of them floating in the Texas area,as the main distribution of them happened in Dallas early on.Id get them to sell on ebay, but Id have to do as is,because of how the shipping would prob kill the player or cause it problems.

Well I happen to like some of those over budgeted cg games at least, some of those rail shooters I could do without though.
What I did state was that it died because I used a third party megadrive cartridge, that's what messed it up.
I've yet to have any problems with a laseractive and I am getting a new one. I might get your opinon later on though if I do experience the problems you are talking about, perhaps I've been lucky. Perhaps I'll stay lucky (, if I keep unofficial products away :p).
