We are talking about SG shooters here, not superior ports.

If you consider this game in comparison to other shooters on the Genesis, It IS one of the best shooters on the system in terms of game play.

Take it for its merits. I will get another "superior ports/bad graphics" post I know. Now who is repeating shit over?

Here I will present my thesis in clear words:-

In comparison to other Sega Genesis shooters, Raiden is one of the best shooters available for the system based on the game play alone, because we know game play is most important to real gamers.

Gaiares was my pick. That is one awesome shootie.

As for Raiden, the worst port is the Jaguar. Total Raiden Fraud. The SNES port would be after that, followed by the Genny. The TG port is, by far, the best.

Edit: The PS1 port would actually be the best.  :-"

Raiden is a shitty game to begin with.  All ports of Raiden are shitty , basically because it is Raiden.  The TG-16 version is a complete joke compared to the Playstation version, though.  It's completely stretched, too.  Looks very wrong.  It's like watching a 4:3 TV show stretched to fit a 16:9 screen.  Screw that.

Those are good games. However, I said "most" of them suck, and most of them do indeed suck. These are exceptions.
