slight ghosting on PCE GT screen?
« on: October 06, 2011, 01:16:14 PM »
hey all, my PCE GT gets a bit of ghosting.

The worst offender seems to be Galaga 88. You can see the space station for like 15-20 seconds after its gone. same with other background graphics. Same with the title screen in R-type, I can see the R-Type text in the background for the  first while.

Does anyone else's do this?

My TE always did that.  You can't help it much and just have to live with it.  Like Nat said, in 89 LCD technology was in its infancy.

It's normal, I actually had a thread about it myself when I first got my NIB Turbo Express. The game I really tested it with was also R-Type, and I thought the thing was broken.

the TE/GT screen is very temperature dependent.
the warmer it is the faster images fade.
Devils Crush was unplayable in a tent in the snow, due to afterimage/streaking.

This is the case with virtually all LCD displays, at least all of a certain type (passive matrix?).
