pc engine real color?
« on: September 28, 2005, 02:24:42 PM »
i read a excelent topic here about the yellowish color that plague the nec systems

so i just wondering, is the pc engine really a white console. or is it more like beigh, or white like a dreamcast

other thing i notice is the super cd rom system ifu 30 , the briefcase, the whole thing i have including the cd rom reader not only the interface unit. is more i think, beigh color, i now maybe is a bit yellow stained, but when i open the unit, inside is the same color so? the pc engine is white and the interfase unit is beigh?

this is more or less my set, just my pc engine a bit more white

ah i almost forgot , back on my case of the super system card, in the back, a shot of system shows is beigh...

so??

please can you show me some pics..i really apreciate that

by the way this is the best pce communit

The PC Engine and PCE CDROM2 system are both originally completely white , but this yellow plague causes this to happen and it happened to the top part of my CDROM2 system when I received it, but Michael was kind of enough to send me an extra top and I replaced it. My PCE is really yellow, but I plan on cleaning it sometime with bleach and selling it on Ebay so I can buy another one from Japan Game Stock so I can get the original box and instructions which I don't have.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Had a buddy who took that same setup to an automobile paint shop.  Just the shells of course after he took it apart.

Had it painted white with car paint.   He did lose the CD-ROM letters and the PC engine logo, but later added it in with very high quality vinyl stickers.  Has not faded since.  And it looked beautiful!
