Games Adverts - Console Concepts (UK)
« on: October 16, 2011, 08:02:17 AM »
I was flicking though some old magazines today and I came across this Advert for Console Concepts in the UK.  They were a games importer in the 90's and it just so happens this is where I used to work!

Damn, we also had Super Adventure Island on the PCE. I bet it was even better than the SFC pendant.

Comic books had some of the best TG-16 ads way back when.
I'll try to share them here soon... ;)

Monkey ..... now there is an interesting one ;-) I cannot remember off top of my head what this would have been (it was 19 yeas ago) I will have a scan around to see if I can work this out.

PARODIOS, never noticed this one before :-) and as for Super Adventure Island on the PCE, I bet that Chris Covell did not even know about this one LOL ;-)

Most likely. They (meaning all importers) used to make/mess up all sorts of wrong names for import games back then.

I suspect that the use of the title "Monkey" was an attempt to tie in with one of the re-runs of the popular 70's series monkey (Saiyuki)

In the series the character Monkey had the power to summon clouds. (Cloud Master)

So, these were PAL converted PC Engines, and not the PAL TurboGrafx?

£500 for the CD Unit in 1989 - WOW!  The Queen will have to sell her jewelry.

Yes these were Japanese imports that were either converted to PAL or to RGB

£500, this is why I never owned one in 1990 ;-) Lucky for me I worked in the place (well when it became console concepts)so there was plenty of opportunity to play :-)
