PC Engine Shuttle, something I've always been curious about

Why was it made? What improvement was there in it over the original PC Engine? It looks awesome and the controller looks comfortable, but what else did it offer that was supposed to make people want to upgrade to it over the PC engine?

It didn't offer anything new, it was just a different look for the system, that was supposed to appeal to kids.

Oh ok, it always seemed wierd to me that it was made since it had no CD add on for it and as far as I could tell had nothing to offer aside from its awesome UFO/space ship looks.

I don't think it was ever marketed as an "upgrade," but rather an entry-level system at a lower price point for those who weren't interested in ever exploring the CD library.

Its nice that they made a system for special people. Too bad it didn't come with a helmet too.

It did come with one of the more comfortable PCE controllers though. I used it most and Ave3 next.
