Hold up a minute. Do you really think it fair to place product based games under the title of homebrew?

I mean just because someone or even a small group of someones get together to create and release a game as an official product for sale then, doesn't that move the game in question out of the homebrew category and into the same ranks as any other third party software?

What I'm saying is... How should I put it... It's as if Arkhan, Garner and anyone else who aren't with some big shot, well known, household brand name are being treated like their sales releases aren't true product but, just some private hobby that they chose to get copyrighted so, that they could sale it as though it were an official product but, not really because they're name isn't Sony or Namco or Konami or...

I'm not trying to make waves. I'm just saying that it doesn't seem fair to me to call a non-big name official sales release "homebrew".

It just seems to me that it's like saying, your game is just a hobby project, not an official game.

Anything released for a system, that is not endorsed/licensed is basically homebrew.  All of these games developed and under development are considered "Homebrew" titles since they are being made by fans for the most part.  Its not an insult by any means.  These guys are proud of their products, and so are we.

Oh. I did not know that. Never mind me. Putting my foot in my mouth is kind of an old habit. So, what about Tengen doing unlicensed NES games? Would that also be classified as homebrew?

BTW, I wasn't knocking homebrew. Some of my favorite games are homebrew and have inspired me a lot.

I don't know any kind of programming languages but, I've played around with tile and level editors and I like to experiment with sprite alterations as well.
