PC Engine Briefcase Units for Sale
« on: January 15, 2012, 03:27:47 PM »
Hello everyone! I'm ready to start selling some briefcase units, so here is the new thread.
Right now shipping will be a bit steep as I am still in Japan, but to compensate I've lowered the prices as much as I can. Please PM me if you are interested so I can begin building your set up and testing it.

Since everyone seems to want a different set up I will list the components by price and you can pick what you want.
These are the base prices for the parts in good condition, but if you don't mind a yellowed or scratched unit I can lower the price a bit.

Refurbished and tested CD ROM2 unit: $90
Interface Unit (with cover): $20
White PC Engine: $20
PC Engine Core Grafx I: $40
Accessory pack (AC adapter/cables/system card/controller): $10
Box: $15

Shipping to North America/Europe will depend on what you buy as it is based on weight.
A rough estimate for a loose briefcase set up be around $65 for airmail shipping (SAL) and around $35 for surface, but it may be slightly more depending (and obviously a lot less if you just wanted a loose CDROM2 unit). I will test the units thoroughly before I send them out, but if you have a problem with the CD unit within 2 weeks of arrival I can talk to you about returns or exchanges. I know they are finicky systems and have a few that just refuse to work.

Here is a picture of some of the units I have available at the moment, although I have a few more coming in.

I'd still like one of the cd units, but at 35-65 for shipping, just can't see me getting one. A shame shipping costs so damn much, but understand that expenses such as fuel for the planes isn't cheap either. :(

If you just wanted a loose CD unit I expect shipping would be more around $15. The $35-$65 estimate is for a full set up with PC Engine/IFU/CD ROM/AC Adapter/Cables/controller/etc. All together it's pretty heavy, but the shipping would be a lot less if you just wanted part of it (a CD-ROM and IFU for instance).

I'd need the CD Unit, interface, and the hookups as well as a 1.0 system card if you have one. Have me a Core to operate it.

Yeah, I have all that! The IFU's aren't that heavy, and act as good protection for the CD Unit, so I could pack it up with minimal packaging and see how much it would cost to ship. As far as the hook-ups you can just use a standard RCA cable to connect it to your TV, and I have an off-brand AC adapter that is light-weight. So overall I could probably cut down on the shipping costs quite a bit (the CoreGrafx is actually the heaviest part). If you are interested let me know and I could check the exact shipping costs for you.

Yes, they are but I have a couple more in the works, so I thought I would make a separate post about them when everything is ready, as the price might change depending on how many working units I can get together.

Actually someone else in the UK wants the exact same thing so I'll post the shipping rates for that as soon as I find out the exact numbers.

I'm very much interested in a refurbished Duo or Duo R.

OK, I should have some available in February. I will post a new thread at that time.

Thanks!

I might be interested in a white PC Engine, mainly to have a unit I can experiment on and bring to meetups. However if you have any Core Grafx systems for cheaper than your asking price, I'd be interested.
