Hmm.

Well I'm a fan of Valis Fantasm Soldier and Valis III.  (Haven't tried Valis IV yet).  I like platform action/adventure type games, but there aren't a lot of them out there for the PCE it seems.

Dynastic Hero is awesome--if you can find it. (I have an oooooooold burn from 1993 or so)

Wonder Boy II is good--what's that on the TG-16? Dragon's Curse? They changed all the names around.  Dragon's Curse might be Wonderboy III however....but that's also good. (But I think Dynastic Hero is actually Wonderboy III)

Kaze Kiri is a decent side scrolling platform/brawler.  I got it in Japan for $65 or so sealed, but online it's $160.  Might wait until you can get to Japan. :)

As for shooters, I dig Darius Plus.  Graidus II GOFER is decent.

I'll have to get back to this thread later since I have SO many and I have posted them many times before on various message boards! But I'll just say for now that Ys Book I & II is my all time favorite TG16/PCE game and basically my favorite game of all time! :D

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Thanks for all the input everyone! On a related note, can I play only play Hue Card Games on my PC Engine that were Japanese? I think without modding the PC Engine that those are the only ones I could play...

Somebody should just make a sticky of one of these topics so everybody doesn't have to retype their favorites every few weeks.

Technically, Beyond Shadowgate is not a PC Engine game as it was only released in the US....

Bomberman 94 and Sapphire are the best multi players i've played.
I think Lords of Thunder is the best shooter if you're playing solo.
Y's is the best RPG, but i think i had more fun playing Exile 1 because i'd already beaten Ys on the SMS.
Dragon Slayer is great if you can get over the terrible voice acting.
I havne't played many import RPGs.
Kabuki Itouryodan is my favorite fighter.

I came up with it, but I'm sure that it's a sentiment that many people share :P

And Tron, please don't put an apostrophe in Ys, Lilia cries every time someone does that.
