I'm gonna throw this out here...  Gate of Thunder just listed, going cheap on the 'Bay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEC-PC-Engine-Gate-Thunder-Super-CD-/320853810643?pt=UK_PC_Video_Games_Video_Games_JS&hash=item4ab4609dd3

I'm so tempted to get it for that price, but I can't help think it looks a little brash in the colour department.  Like it might hurt my eyes playing it.

I'll probably own it one day, but right now, unless someone wants to convince me otherwise, I have too many other shooters to play.  I just watched a video and it looks hard too.

Ever?  Still, bearing in mind I've already laid out for Soldier Blade, Parodius, Twinbee AND Star Parodier, among others (and haven't even played them all yet, let alone properly)  I don't think I can justify another.

I'd rather someone here capitalise.  Keep it in circulation within the community.

Sure this is your alone decision, but GoT is one of those rare 12/10 games :)

Lets not forget though, the US version comes with 3 extra games (all of whichI have, I think)

No brainer, you have to own GoT. Part of my 4 way tie for best shooter along with LoT, Soldier Blade and Nexzr. If you like shooters and play PCE you need all of those for complete satisfaction.

Shooters aren't my favorites, I must say (probably because I'm so out of practice).  I enjoy them on occasion, but I dislike repetition, so I can't sit and play the same beginning levels over and over.

And that's exactly where GoT shines the most. There is so few repetition in it. It just goes on, sucks you in and you can't stop playing. It has that kind of rare GAME MAGIC :)

Couldn't agree more. If you don't play anything else for the Duo or pce cd, you MUST play GOT!!! It's the absolutely best shooter period!!! Addictive gameplay, beautiful graphic and freaking awesome soundtrack!! It's the God of all shooter!!!

Ok, how does it compare to Lords [winds] of Thunder?  I got that on the Virtual Console, and I don't think it's amazing.  But then again, I think that was before I had my core set up, so I could only compare it to the GT.
