Volfied
« on: March 12, 2012, 03:46:54 AM »
I recently found a cheat to let you start at the last level you got to upon game over.  I think this could help me master the later levels.  I think I've got to about level 7 before, but it's a really enjoyable game, and my friend mentioning it makes me want to play it again.

So how far can you guys get?  Or do you play for points?

This game is a great and fun game, but it obviously is a big swing and miss.

I just know I can make it to the other side of the screen. Look, all the enemies are over there, it will be a doddle. Ready, ready, the perfect moment...GO GO GO.

My favoured technique is to make a complex jagged trap for the boss craft that I can seal off.  Unfortunately one of the bosses seems to know this, and shrinks to fit.

But yeah, so far it looks like people aren't really feeling Volfied.  Is the arcade version much different?

There is some difference. The PC Engine version has smaller graphics and levels have been moved around.

Isn't that the main goal/strategy of that game anyway?

I dunno, it's not the way I've always played it.  you can box off the less busy areas, or you can bit-by-bit divide the screen in half.

VolfieV is a great game! Classic. PCE version is nice (no complaints).

It was the title of this thread that threw me off, to be honest  .

Ah, it's actually called Volfied, the D just looks like a V because of their crazy typeface.

Google Volfiev and it will show results for Volfied.

I have some complaints.  Music sux, much like Taito's other PCE "efforts", and they used the awful dithery VCE setting that doesn't reduce video artifacts like other PCE games do.  Again.
