Dekoboko Legend

Well, this game sucks.  I thought it would be way more amazing than it is for some reason.  It's really dull.  Am I doing something wrong, or is this the driving equivilent of The Kung Fu?

I don't like the Kung fu because nothing much happens.  That's why I don't like Dekoboko Legend.  Drive... drive... turn a bit... drive..  As opposed to TKF:  punch, punch, punch.... walk a bit... Kick..

The Kung Fu/China Warrior is a blast to play because it gets challenging (no missed kitchen pots or spoons!) and rhythmic (all airborne wares from the haberdashery are disposed of in a glorious ballet of violence and tact!)

Sadly, Dekoboko Legend has none of these redeeming qualities. Nor does it possess any other attributes to elevate it above tedium.

Would a mutli-player contest be a better experience than playing solo? Perhaps, but I don't have great hopes. I know I played a multi-player (3+ people) many, many years ago...but I honestly can't remember how we felt about it. I do remember having a grand time with Dungeon Explorer and MotoRoader, though.

Dekoboko Legend needs an irate haberdasher who like to throw things. That's what I think.

P.S. That song is really, really annoying in Dekoboko. You know the one I'm referring to. With the corny singing and vocals. Ughhhh...

How's Motoroader MC?  i know it's not the same thing.  Oh and Rally Championship, even though it's not Multiplayer, looks pretty good.

How's Motoroader MC?  i know it's not the same thing.  Oh and Rally Championship, even though it's not Multiplayer, looks pretty good.

Motoroader MC plays more like Super Sprint (but not as fun...since Super Sprint has different types of terrain to interact with).

MicroMachines (NES) plays soooooooooooooooooo nice, with such great variety. I think we would be happy if PCE had a game as playable as MicroMachines (even if the PCE version exhibited half the charm and variety...honestly, it would still be amazing).

Since we are on the topic of dreams, I want Baseball Stars (NES) remixed for the PCE. That would be heavenly. No, the Neo Geo version is not what I want. The Neo Geo version sucks compared to the NES version.



Back on topic: Motoroader 2, soop, has yet to win me over. Nat, whose opinions/tastes I respect greatly, likes Motoroader 2...but I just can't get into it. I feel like it is a regression from Motoroader 1, believe it or not. Still, I remain hopeful that if I give Motoroader 2 more time (and convince my brothers/friends to do the same), that maybe we can squeeze some fun out of it.

Yeah, I kind of like Motoroader I more too...  It's weird, it feels like it shouldn't be so fun, but it sucks you in - and it's GREAT for the GT.  And then I found about the codes to give you different tracks!  I need to play that game more...

*edit* while we're  on the subject, I think a single-player RC pro-am, or a super off-road would be great too.  But let's not forget Sunset Riders.

I would also like to see an rc proam, super off road or micro machines type game on the pce. And baseball stars is fun, but I really like bad news baseball on nes more. Dekoboko was one of my first cd games, so in that respect it has some sentimental value to me, but that being said I never play the game. It would have been better as a clone of Bump N' Jump.

The gameplay is a bit crap, but I enjoy Dekoboko regardless. And the title song is the best game song EVER.

Now see, I never understood the appeal of Micro Machines. You can't see SHIT ahead of you so you just slam into shit and get dropped from the bottom. The majority of time played is watching that moronic bouncing animation that happens when you get left behind.

Now, there are certain types of racing game players who don't care about this. They only play racing games to like...watch stuff happen at random. The people who like the Cruisin' games and the sort who like any Mario Kart other than the SNES and GBA versions. Those people I can see liking it. But if you actually want to beat the other guy by out driving him...these games suck.

BTW, I love Super Sprint and Off Road (arcade versions). Because the screen doesn't scroll you don't have all the issues of Micromachines and Dekoboko Densetsu.

Dude, you have to learn to SLOW DOWN (maybe even brake) in MicroMachines. Familiarity with the courses helps, too (duh! Like most racing games). If you are new to a course (or just can't remember what's coming up next), slow down and let the other fellow pass you a bit...you will certainly have enough time to react (even if your reaction time has been degraded by excessive drinking of Zima!)

ALSO: Super Sprint and Off Road are on my all-time favorite list of games. SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD.

I thought the big draw with Micromachines was that it was so good multiplayer. Are you playing with three other people who are also actually good at the game? That's really hard to pull off for me. Usually when I play racing games multiplayer I just take first place and let the others shoot weapons at each other all day and drive into things. With MM this is pretty hard since you all have to be on the same screen at the same time so...you basically watch cars bounce. A lot.
