Lots of folks have tried the amazing Gimmick! on the Famicom, if only through emulation. It's an amazing game with a happy soundtrack that compliments the visual atmosphere perfectly. The first stage music is great, but if you ask me, it's the music to the paradise-in-the-clouds last stage (only reachable by collecting hidden items in the other stages) that's the best. Be sure to listen with some bass!

Gimmick used a sound enhancement chip called the FME-07, so even if you find ordinary Famicom music a little on the primitive side, this one might surprise you.

Basically all the music in Metamorphic Force.  Such an amazing game!  This is from the final boss fight.

My all time favorite Cave game Dangun Feveron.  Stage 2 music

I immediately hunted down the complete soundtrack. Awesome pick! The music gets a little drowned out in the game itself, so it's nice to get a straight take of it.

One of my all-time favorite soundtracks is Battle Garegga's. Every track is good, and there's plenty of variety - so much that I hate to pick one track to represent the whole thing. Here's Stage 1, and with a nice bonus - while the track on the CD doesn't really loop at all, I went ahead and manually looped it three times.

Funny thing about this track - it sounds good coming out of crappy speakers. Somehow, I think that's how it would sound playing through some crude old radio headphones in a WWII fighter cockpit.

Cool, heh, I remember this! I beat it on a rental back in my High School days (still have to add 120 games to my NES list on Backloggery, but it's one of them)! ;) I wouldn't say it's "awesome," but pretty decent and I definitely remember it.

^^^ Cool, hadn't heard that one before.

It reminded me that there are a couple of really good tracks from Super Bomberman 3:

Poseidon Wars 3D SMS (FM) has a surprisingly jammin tune on the opening screen.

I also recommend Shanghai SMS (FM), but there doesn't seem to be a video out there, will try to come up with one.
