So I was looking through some old threads and what not via a reply to a quote of another unrelated thread and saw a link to that anime4ever.de site, and remember that was they guy that was selling those Saphy boots, and saw that Rockman Super CD rom game, looks really nice package wise, and really want to get my hands on one of those assuming they were actually put into print by that guy, so yeah does anybody know how I can get one or if it's possible to still buy from that site, I tried clicking on the "email me" link but it did not work.

The Rockman boot symbolizes everything that's wrong with game collectors.  The Rockman port was made for free by a member here.  Then this random a$$hole decides to start selling it for personal gain with no respect for it's creator.  Anyone that buys that pirate shit should be banned.

by that logic Bernie and I should be banned. lol, calm down man. as for OP pretty much you can help yourself by making yourself a disc for free. check the nes emulation thread (i believe that is what it was called) It should link you to the official authors site which will have information to help yourself make a disc.

Why download something for free when you can pay $50 for a CD-R of it?

I would agree with you there. When I originally saw it, I was not aware that it was originally a free project and my friend loves megaman. I originally bought it so we could both try to finish it on one sitting. Afterwards I found out that it was available for free. :/.

I believe Bernie ordered it to compare it to Bonknuts's version and it turned out to be a match.

So not that it is related to this thread at all, but Vestcoat(or anyone who may know) I was reading up a bit in that thread that you linked in your quote/reply and saw a link to anime4ever.de and clicked on it. I saw that the guy had that sapphy boot, along with now a Rockman apparently, so my ? is, is it possible at all to still get that from him, does anyone know, I tried to click on that "email me" link but it doesnt go anywhere.

(Started to respond in the gouging thread, some of these points have already been covered)

There are three things you should consider before giving any money to anime4ever:

1) He's a gouger. He originally tried to sell SFZ for $160. $100 or whatever he's charging now is still insane considering these things are CD-Rs.

2) He's a liar. He came around here in 2005 saying he bought a box of Sapphires in Tokyo, feigned ignorance regarding their origin, and put up that "small site" (anime4ever.de) just to sell those few copies. Link.  His deception started a years-long debate about all of these new Sapphires floating around. Endless idiots drank the Cool-Aid and argued long and hard that their precious Sapphires that they paid too much money for must surely be from a 2nd printing, not bootlegs. Anime4ever eventually dropped the pretense when he pressed SFZ, expanded his site, and sold a couple spindles of his misprint Sapphires bootlegs to BlueBMW.

3) He's a thief. That Rockman hack was made by Bonknuts. Link.  Fudoh stole it and it's not even the latest version. Obviously, Megaman isn't Bonknuts' IP either, but artists (and anyone with integrity) will usually operate under Creative Commons principles when it comes to things like this - not for profit, attribution, and they usually ask permission.
STATUS: Try not to barf in your mouth.

When it was just the Sapphires I was all right with the guy. The CDs themselves were professionally pressed and a great product. His bullshit story about their origin seemed, at the time, to be more of an effort to take the heat off him for copyright infringement than an attempt to defraud his customers.

Now...it almost seems like he's another person entirely. Its one thing to sell a %99 perfect knockoff of a forever out of print retail game that everyone wants for €30. Its another to sell CD-Rs of a homebrew port for $160. He's a pirate either way, but one that I used to have a use for, but certainly no longer do. f*ck that guy.

Is he the same Fudoh from the Shmup forums?

edit:   Yeah, turns out it is.

Also, It was ridiculous reading some of the "Facts" in that old thread. What ever happened to GUTS and Michael Hegelson?

Was wondering the same thing. I'm in the process of maybe buying a scaler from him, and he's been quite pleasant talking to, so this feels a tad odd.

I'll admit: http://sapphire.anime4ever.de/ these are so tempting.

Is there any other way to get these, or copies of the artwork etc?
