Here is probably the cheapest one you can find. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-4-5MM-BIT-SECURITY-TOOL-OPEN-SEGA-GENESIS-GAMES-/370596031025?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item56493eaa31

However, with my experience those will work for a few systems but then eventually break. If you want one that will last buy this one instead.

Just curious, but do hardware stores sell these? You could find them anywhere in Japan but I haven't looked in the US for one.

Don't forget that there are two sizes to gamebits. Make sure you got the one you need.

I tried and came up with nothing around here :(

As for the size I believe its supposed to be the 4.5mm one *crosses fingers*

I've checked Home Depot and Lowes and have never come across them. I bought the 3.8mm and 4.5mm game bit drivers from Parts Express via mail order back in the mid '90s and they still work great. A couple of years ago I found the drivers at Micro Center as part of a $30 screwdriver tool kit made by Pro's Kit. Everything in this kit was well-made except the two game bit drivers. The teeth of the drivers were not formed well (they're too small) so they don't fit in the grooves of the screw head. For other consoles the tool kit works great, but for Nintendo and Sega cartridges (haven't taken anything TG/PCE-related apart yet) I'm still using the old bits from Parts Express.

Yeah, I can't find the 4.5mm bit at any hardware stores near me. However, I can easily get the bit for the pc engine duo and duo-r locally.

Damn I should have picked up a bunch of these in Japan as they are cheap and easy to find.

I just order them from www.nesrepairshop.com. They're more expensive than the ebay ones, but the bits are quality and they aren't too big for the holes in some of the Nintendo cartridges. My old gamebit was a little too wide so it ended up widening the screw hole a little bit when used in a cart. When I order from them it gets to my mailbox in a couple of days.
