Here is the MS-06S ZAKU II i just finished building. I still have to add all the decals. I also wanted to add a top coat. Something i haven't tried yet. I have been researching it, and have found lots of information. I was planning on using Krylon flat top coat. Do you guys have any suggestions?

For decals most people spray a gloss coat before the decals then a matte or semi gloss when every thing is done. You dont want a shiney gundam.  The gloss coat is supposed to make it easier to apply decals but if it's not painted you probably dont have to worry about that. I bought a can or Mr Hobby semi gloss top coat off of ebay and I think it looks great. Might want to avoid spray from the store since some of the chemicals might have a reaction to the plastic or decals.
Have you tried panel lining yet? It really makes your kits pop. I just got a gundam panel line marker but you can get a super fine marker from an art store by Micron. If you decide to do that before you do the top coat.

Its actually already panel lined. Its just hard to tell in that cell phone photo. Also the decals i add are the stickers that came with the real grade kit. Do you think i still need to apply a gloss coat? Like you said, I don't want a shiny Gundam. I want it to have a matte (flat) finish.

So yesterday i picked up some Tamiya 79 semi gloss clear and some Testors dull top coat. So far i have had mixed results on my test models. The semi gloss doesn't seem to add much, also it made the panel lines i put on the test model run (not sure if that was due to the fact that i applied the panel line around 10 minutes before spraying with the tamiya)The Testors definitely added a matte finish, maybe a bit to much of a matte finish. Also if you look closely there is a blotchy look to the plastic. Any tips or other methods i should try.

Also, here is a tutorial i got most of my tips from

Gundam markers take a little while longer to completely dry than most paints so that might be why
