Cross Wiber
« on: May 22, 2012, 11:22:31 AM »
What a pretty game but WTF is up with the game mechanics. You will get hit no matter what and hope to Turbob that you have enough energy to transform and then make it past that.

But man the graphics are pretty!

I have been considering picking up a copy if I find one cheap. I also want Cyber Cross even though people consider it trash. I still like the style and have a soft spot for shitty pce games

I love the radiant-gradient backgrounds in Cross Wiber, the graphics in general are kinda cool. Could've been a really decent action game if the controls were better, some of the levels are fun. Has anyone ever made it past that part with the impossible platform jumps?

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I don't recall the exact level, I remember there being these pillars you'd jump on but there would always be enemies to knock you off the ledge.

Who the hell says this game is shitty?  I like both the Cyber games.

It's got China Warrior / SOTB syndrome.   If you approach the game wrong, it's not a fun game.

Take it slow.  Don't punch things you don't need to punch.

Been learning that on the second stage. It is a slower paced affair.  I like the classic Karate moves the guys pulls, punch, punch, kick, WHIRLWIND KICK! lol  KIA!

yes, It's not a fast paced beat em up.

Once you get that going, it's pretty funlike.

I started playing Cyber Cross and like it quite a bit. Dare I say, more so than Wiber, at least gameplay wise. The graphics still kick ass in Wiber, BUT the main character dude in Cross is better animated and has more charm.

Pretty much what Ark said though, it's got that China Warrior vibe to it too.
