I still like it for what it is, since I bought it and played it to death back when the Duo was still around. But take away the CD sound and even with the full screen digital shots from the film it'd be a budget HuCard.
I finally got this game a few months ago. It never looked good to me, but I decided I had to finally find out what it was like :). There's no Red Book audio at all. Is it all PSG-generated music? I remember Keranu menitioning that there were ambient noises (like soundscapes) in the game. I've yet to play the game.[/quote]
I don't really remember talking about any noises in the game, but I just remember saying before how this game has a pretty fun concept but poor gameplay and also how awesome the boss designs are (one of them was seriously one of the coolest boss fights I have ever seen, I think it was the mom or the boss after her. No it wasn't the one with Wednesday who had various toys like a NES flying around, but that was still awesome :D :P ). Give that game better gameplay, CD music, and maybe touch up on the graphics and it would have been great.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

hmmmm. my bad, I thought it was you who talked about the soundscapes. I'm looking forward to boss fights though :). An NES flying around? Awesome.

Yep, it was awesome seeing a NES sprite flying around a room!

Another curiosity was Genpei Tōma Den, translated here Equinox Warrior (?). Not that Samurai Ghost, as an official title, is much better -- but Equinox Warrior? Where did that come from? :-/

Ha. "Samurai Ghost" is your classic Americanization of a game title. Rule # 1 : make the title as titilating as possible.

In fairness Samurai Ghost sounds much better than genpei-whatever.  Genpei is just a gross sounding word.

I agree with GUTS :D . Haha, that is funny how Genpei does sound gross somehow. Sounds like some kind of nasty sexual fetish act.

Oh yeah, I love the title "Samurai Ghost"...  and to follow Keranu's comment above, I think Genpei is Japanese for smegma.

Smegma is common to all mammals, male and female. -- thank you, wikipedia :)

Ah... Clash of cultures, I suppose.

Don't try learning foreign languages, because you'd die of shame and disgust!

I actually love how most Japanese stuff sounds and think Japanese is a super cool language, but it doesn't mean there aren't some gross sounding words here and there.  I can't stand how most other asian languages sound though, especially vietnamese, ugh.  Talk about nails on a chalkboard.

Not unless if the human mammal lives in North America where evil parents decide to chop foreskin off of baby boys. Thank the lord mine has been untouched.

What a way to steer a thread....

Well, although the lord had nothing to do with it, I have been touched.

My friend's brother was left untouched, and was in pain most of his life until recently when he finally got the operation. Now he enjoy being with women, but its over as soon as it starts.

I have a friend who has a turtleneck still and we always joke about him getting sticks and dirt stuck in it.

I wish the operation would stop because there is really no reason at all to do it. Even if the fact of circumcions have a 30% chance less of getting AIDs (which is the only decent reason I can figure why to do it), that still leaves a GREAT chance and you should be having protected sex in the first place anyways. Even religions that make this operation a traditional (Judaism, Islam) don't actually even require it as far as I know, since neither of their holy books even mention it.

Or at the very least, it would be cool to have a choice. Although those who do as adults usually seem to wish they had had it done less painfully earlier.
