Haha, oh the many versions of Dark Fact's name! Personally I like Dark Fact the most, but I still love a name like Dulk Dekt or any other crazy one like that, haha. I believe there is one really long one, but I can't remember.
I've got the english IBM version CIB and Dark Fact's name is Malificus. Thats gotta be the most effed up one. Not only that, but the box refers to him as a "fiendish wizard".
Not only that... but it also says that he has the 6 books of Ys and is using their power against the people(if you haven't played the game, he doesn't have all the books).
I also like how the box says that: "A first in computer games- you play a role" and "when you fight, you fight arcade-style... fast!".
DUDE! That's awesome. I can't wait to find out more about this game... fast!
Looking at the "Background" section of the manual, its says that a farmer discovered a precious metal known as "
kureria". They later had to seal it all up in the Holy Shrine of
Sarumon.
It does say that Malificus is a descendant of one of the "wiseman" of Ys(must be Wiseman Ficus).
It actually gives away that the "guardian statues" have been turned mortal by Malificus using the knowledge of the Books which reveal the secret of kureria's magic.
The dogs are listed in the manual as "Kaenine", the eyeball monsters are "Eyebols", the phoenix is "Nofenix" and it goes on from there.
