The out of print games and stuff I don't care if he's charging for the work he's doing (though the price is crazy for CD-Rs if you ask me).

However, selling Tom's beta release of Rockman is SHAMEFUL. I'll never order from this guy.

You can download Rockman/Megaman here (http://pcedev.wordpress.com/downloads-and-links/) by the way and support him with feedback and encouragement.

They are not high quality, they are not pressed.

I was talking overall quality though. Many bootlegs can be glitchy, have graphical errors with colours etc, and sound is often a bit off. Almost like the emulator on a chip type machines out there.

I take it this happened very recently? I bought a copy a few months ago and it's pressed.

The old Sapphire boots were pressed, then BMW bought him out.  The new ones he lists now are just CDRs.

So wait, he's now charging %60 more for a CD-R of something than the pressed version cost?

This is why I seriously think we are talking about two different guys here. Whoever made the orriginal Saphires for 30 euros years ago and the dick thats screwing people now. Maybe Fudoh just bought the guy's stuff, took over the website, and went completely stupid and evil afterwards.

This isn't going to happen.

There aren't going to be any issues playing these boots. Its not a VHS tape. The CD-Rs are copies of retail games. If they track properly (up to your Duo there) they'll play perfectly.

EPROMS and CDRs aren't as reliable as mask ROMs and pressed CDs, but aside from those factors there aren't going to be any issues.

Oh i understand. I have my tiny experience of bootlegs from the neo geo. And you can definetly tell a bad bootleg from the original. Its harder when it comes to a well made bootleg though.. Thanks for the elaboration.

I don't know who started this rumor, but it's 100% false. The new Sapphire's are pressed, just like the old ones. I bought a copy a month or two ago, definitely from the new batch (it has a manual). I explicitly asked him if it was pressed, he said it was. Beyond that, the disc has care4data on it. Here's some pics, including one comparing it to SFZ.

My shitty cell phone isn't good enough to capture the care4data, but I promise it is there.

"It has a manual"? All the old ones most certainly had manuals. That's how they pass for fakes on eBay.

Well, I might be off here, but there were a few waves. Initially, yes, they had manuals. Eventually he ran out of those and started selling the misprints (color on disc was much lighter). That's how I got my first copy last year. It had no manual, just a cover sheet. It did have the spine and art on the back of the case though. Finally he started just selling them loose (which I think is when BMW picked up a spindle of them).

The reason why I bothered buying it again this year is because it had a manual and bootleg or not, I wanted a copy with the manual.

So for the 100 something Euros you spent on those two boots, you would have been more then halfway towards a real legit copy of Sapphire.  Over 50 Euros for a boot.  LOL.

?  What you do with your money is your thing.  But no boot/repro should cost over $10 or it's a waste imo.

Fifty Euros for a boot is pretty ridiculous. I paid $30 (I think) and that's kind of the limit of sanity.

I wouldn't pay anything for the SFZ since I could bang one out at home.
