Original discs are written in a specific manor. I tried using downloads, and they work fine on emulator, but on
a real PCE unit, they crash at a various points, Big waste of disc recording, because they do not last, especially with the laser difference.

The thing with cdr copies, whether they are directly copied from an original disc or are burned off of an iso/mp3 rip, is that literally any kind of random problem can arise and inconsistantly and every individual PCE CD-ROM unit handles them differently. So just take any problem-free periods as a plus when playing cdrs and accept issues when they come up. If a game seems worth buying after trying it out, then you can factor in the lower-hassle as part of the value when shopping.

Yeah, and there really aren't many games where the system card causes issues like this. Normally, the system card should be one of the last things to suspect.

Since I delete some save games and now have space left to save been working fine looks like it just couldn't save so doesn't load.

Wondering if this can effect other games ? No space to save like.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I remember hearing about some games that will just crap out totally from a lack of save space and not really explain it to the user. I can't remember which ones though.

Since you are saying this happens after level 1, maybe this is the first time it tries to create a save file.

After defeating the boss and getting to level 2 turn it off start it back up and the save starts at the beginning of level 2 that's the first save as it doest save it before then.
