Nintendo Zelda
« on: June 12, 2012, 06:24:20 PM »
I hope this thread can go here.

I went to a Pawn shop and saw the Gold Zelda game I asked them how much they wanted for it they said USD50.00 bucks. The game itself was in terrible shape it had black scrapes all over it no manual or box I was not even sure if it worked. I told them that was outrageous, and of course the got  and said that is what they sell for on ebay. They even tried to stop me and bet me 50.00 that they can prove it to me. I just walked away laughing .

Yup, we got plenty of shops like that were i live to. one guy south of me, is sending out people to buy up as much as he can and storing it in cargo containers. He's trying to dry up supply to raise prices. apparently he has never heard of ebay

Not only is that what most of them say, but a few of them even have effectivley just that printed on the display case. Well sans, the only 9.6 million made part. I dont buy my games from pawn shops anyhow. Most of them have come from garage sales, second hand stores, or just given to me by friends.

Weren't the original Zelda carts only made in gold and they didn't start doing gold version/gray version until Ocarina of Time?

NES Zelda 1 and 2 were re-released on normal gray carts a few years later.  Though honestly they are actually much harder to find then the original gold carts.

Never pay what a pawn shop is asking. I just went to one and they had Sonic Blast Man for SNES and my friend wanted me to find him one. It had rental stickers on it and was kind of grimey. Right in front of me they went on ebay and were trying to find a price for it and they were like $20. I said $4 cash and they took it.

I love when they check eBay right in front of you.

One time that happened, I got on my friends iPhone and ebayed the same thing and went "cool, so its 200$ for a brand new sealed one.  You're selling a loose copy with a f*cked up label.  I give you 5$.  That's what this shitty one on eBay looks like, and it's 7$"

They said YOU CAN GO ON EBAY THEN AND BUY IT YOURSELF.

I did.

Then I went and traded it to them and they gave me 15$ in trade for it.

DOUBLED MY MONEY.
