That's a hell of a deal. I hope you enjoy it. Better someone that will enjoy the games gets ahold of them than someone just trying to sell them for big bucks and ultimately never selling them and just sitting on a shelf or something somewhere forever.

Well, it is good you are deciding to keep the games.  With that decision made, I will donate $50 to a charity of your choice to see you open that Magical Chase in. Youtube video :)

The boxes themselves are shrink wrapped and the games are in jewel cases (except the TTi releases, but you can get replacement cases for those), making such cases totally unnecessary.  Unless you're a full on omg rarez collector clown, of course, in which case you can send the bundle off for VGA grading and go f*ck yourself.

Dear Lord.

I'm with galam: I have to delete this entire scenario from my brain.

I want to believe that this video is simply some sort of sick ruse perpetrated by someone with a nice collection...but I'm getting the impression that this actually was listed on Craigslist.

Amazingly painful for me.

But, syphic, keep all of those games and play them.

Well, actually, don't expect to get too much enjoyment from a few of them (Drop Off, Ballistix, Gun Boat, Champions Forever, TV Sports Anything). But the others...well, you have a bunch of great games.

Goddamn this thread.

If you have a boxed open game, put a manual and huey in it, then compare the weight to one of the sealed ones.  If the sealed one weighs more, it prob has the stuff in it.  *Some* companies like Babbages had "display" boxes that they shrinkwrapped.  They are probably legit though - congrats!

..or open Hit the Ice, that will confirm the weight thing for ya with no value loss  LOL.

Was EVERYTHING sealed?
Wanted:

Dear lord man!  Thanks for sharing, but wtf??  Why throw your cool new stuff all over your driveway?  Oh that pains me!  I hope you'll take good care of them from here on out!  Open, enjoy and give them lots of TLC.

Congrats on the find, But if your not gonna open them then those games don't deserve you. They deserve to be opened and played. You say you love the TG16 well prove it and OPEN THOSE GAMES. There is nothing more fullfilling then going to the game room sitting down an playing Magical Chase on the TG16 or Duo. Not many people will ever be able to play the real hardware.

If you're 100% sure that you want to keep them forever, then go ahead and open them. Aside from losing the seal, they won't degrade if you take good care of them.

The thing to recognize is that unsealing a Magical Chase is essentially a one-time, momentary indulgence that is worth thousands of dollars. A couple of those other games are up there, too. If it's worth that to you, then great, you just got a f*cking fantastic freebie. If it's NOT worth that to you, however...if in fact it's not even close...then you should locate someone for whom it IS worth that much, sell it to them, and spend the cash on an indulgence (or a necessity) that is worth that much to you. There's no shame in not being that hardcore of a TG16 fan, no matter what anybody says.

In my case, I'll come right out and say that I'm basically poor, and the thousands I'd get from selling that haul would be life-changing enough that I'd feel irresponsible not to sell it. Then again, I'm not the hardest of hardcore TG16 fans, either. You'll have to weigh your own situation.

Thanks for sharing, anyway. Whatever happens from here on out, it's an incredibly good thing for you. Enjoy it!

yeah, gotta go with sam, i never really enjoyed MC all that much, i say sell it as is, then buy a PCE version if you really like the game and use the rest for whatever you want, like buying every other TG game.

A agree wholeheartedly.  While I'd hate to see you sell Magical Chase or some of the other hard to come by games to another collector for an obscene amount of money, because it would mean that's one less copy out there for us who actually play the games, it's a buyer's market right now.  If you're not a hardcore Turbografx-16 fan, I could totally see selling that stuff for bank.

However, if that's your deal, then f*ck you for creating an account here just to gloat.

I guess what I'm saying is welcome to the forums!  Open those suckers up and enjoy them.  Your instant collection probably makes a lot of folks here jealous.  All you need to do now is hunt down some of the awesome common games (Alien/Devil's Crush, Ninja Spirit, Blazing Lazers, Dragon Spirit, etc) and you'll be all set.

Of course before long you'll want to get a CD attachment (or Duo) and an Express.  :)

You do realize you've given hope to every Turbonerd who's fantasized about going to a rummage sale and scoring a pile of ultra-rare games, or finding some stash on Craigslist that everyone else has managed to overlook.

For that I say thanks...and...DAMN YOUUUUUUU! ;)
Games I Need: Bonk 3 (HuCard), Legend of Hero Tonma, Magical Chase, Soldier Blade, Super Air Zonk.

Got one to sell? PM me!

Always fun to play this stuff, but I have to agree with SamIAm, sell anything you want to open for 5X what it is worth unsealed, buy the unsealed version and PLAY IT!  Then, take the money you made and buy more TG16 stuff!  I always sell to buy more, not to make money, and it is more fun buying stuff with "free money"!  Super Congrats on an awesome find!
