In Virginia Beach there was a store called Cool Stuff that had a really good selection from 8- and 16-bit eras and a small selection of TG16 stuff. I think they recently closed though. We also had Flipper McCoy's on the boardwalk at the beach that was one of the best retro arcades on the east coast (at least it was 5 years ago before I moved to Wisconsin).

Haven't run into much out here in Wisconsin. If anybody knows of anything here I'd be curious.

There are a few in the Dallas area, but most are just overpriced.  There is a palce called FX Game Exchange, A few Game Xchanges, a few Console Game Xchanges, a place called game chop (currently liquidating retro stuff for all modern, which leads to cheap finds, like my .99 Jag and .01 Atari 7800), and of course Movie Trading Company, which is horribly overpriced.  There used to be a place called 3D Games, but they always wanted outrageous prices for TG16 stuff ($150 for Soldier blade loose, etc.), but I did find good NES deals there (Zombie Nation CIB for $15).  All in all, still usually best to stumble around flea markets hoping to cross someone that has TG16 stuff, which of course never happens :\

We used to have several Games Exchange stores in Wichita. Now there are only two left opened and their selection of 8 and 16-bits are very limited.

Yeah our Game Xchange stores seem to be thinning out on their retro stuff as well.  I keep going into them hoping for a game chasers dinosaur peak-esque find, and always come out disappointed.  The best I found there were 2 copies of Dragon Warrior IV for 10 a pop.

Nothing in Vegas . Yeah nothing in Georgia either, seems almost like TG16 never existed here.

I live in north west NJ and over in Easton, PA there's a new retro store called The Game Gallery. They just had a Neo Geo CD but it sold within 12 hours. This places stock constantly rotates and it's a small store. Here's a link:

Where in NJ, exactly?

I'm southeast of you (East Hanover, Morris County) and we have Digital Press store (on Route 46)...but it really isn't anything to get excited about (it pains me to say that). At least they have a wonderful display with consoles + information placards (akin to a museum exhibit).

(Old pics from September 2007!)

I guess I should stop in there again. It's been ~5 years since I've been there? Holy crappagio.

I've been to digital press before I'm like an hour and a half west of there. It was pretty decent. I wasn't wowed very much.

I live in hunterdon county all the way west by Frenchtown NJ.

You guys in the US are so lucky, the best that I've got is Gametraders, who are more of a rip off than ebay.

For me, once I got ebay, gamestores stopped wowing me, and I mean, its not for lack of having a lot in my general location. What really wows me is just going to places like Goodwill and finding rare gems cheap. In the least I am always pleasantly. When I got to gamestores its all cut and dry, I know what to expect. In general most game stores will run you more then ebay if the seller thinks they have half a clue about pricing and value on their more "exotic" items.
