Just starting out.
« on: July 15, 2012, 07:41:03 AM »
Hello all, this is my first of hopefully many posts on the forums.

I decided to take the plunge last week and purchased a PC Engine Duo R, Ys Books I&II, Ys III, Ys IV, and the Legend of Xanadu I and II. All are great condition with spine cards. I'm very happy with them and already love the PCE, but what are some other great games. I've heard great things about the Side scrolling shooter library and platformers.

Awesome, thanks guys. I'm checking out PCE Gamer right now, awesome resource. I also browse the PCE Software Bible, which I really like.

I'm thinking of picking up Neutopia 1 and 2, Tengai Makyou 1 and 2, Street Fighter II, and Detana Twinbee.

I have Neutopia on PS3 and PSP, and Detana Twinbee on Saturn, so those I know I'll like. SFII is kinda of one of my System Staples, I not only love the game, I always get it for each console I can.

I'll check out Winds of Thunder and Macross as well.

Thanks a bunch guys, I apreciate all the suggestions.

Now get rid of your PS3, Redring, and join the Brighter side of the controller, The 2d side.

WingZeroKai, comrade, welcome.

We will certainly help you find all the wonderful games.

When you have acquired the usual fare (Dracula X, Nexr, Spriggan, etc.), I would be happy to suggest some oddities (they may not be your cup of tea...but, then again, you might love them).

I'm referring of course to Hatris and Rastan Saga II.

Seriously, though, avoid Hatris and Rastan Saga II unless they're cheap and you have fun with mediocre stuff (I do!).
