Back in the mid 90's, I always thought titles like Salamander, 1943, Parodius and Twin Bee would eventually become the 'chase rares' for the system.  I guess they made so many copies of these games, they became common.  All of these titles seem to pop up regularly on ebay for under 45.00 each, except for that one a$$hole in Hong Kong who keeps listing 1943 for 149.99.

Yep, I paid about $16 for a complete Salamander and I think $18 for Parodius. But that was 3 years ago, I haven't checked recent prices.

Salamander is more or less a direct port, on the PCE, it is highly sought after as a shooter, There is at least three sequels and two enhanced versions of this game.

Hey, it's not bad!  I quickly grew tired of my lack of ability, but one one playthrough I had like 4-5 of those pods all suped up (or is that sooped up?) and that was pretty great.
