at..., would you hide it and then buy it later? (This is taking into consideration that you can't buy/hide things during your shift) and that you are certain it will sell before your shift is over?

Would you risk your job over acquiring it?

Just seeing how far fans would go! Reply!

Uh yeah, this is a no brainer. As a matter of fact, when I used to work at Hastings we were allowed to do this, thats how I got the entire boxset of Star Wars and many other boxsets for like $9 "used" (which btw they were probably stolen, opened and then sold back to Hastings lolz). Can't say they bought back in TG16 games, but there was a guy who tried to sell his entire Atari 2600 collection off and we told him we didn't take those anymore, we were more interested in "modern games." Ahh the good ole days...

If someone was trading it in, I'd kindly explain to them what they had and ask that they find another avenue to unload it.

If it just randomly showed up in the store...  I'd probably ask my boss if I could buy it.

He would do this for sure.  We tease him but we know it is true.

I seriously think I might too I always wondered if I worked/owned a used game store and a mom came in could i offer her like 50 bucks for a box full of games that they could get $1000-2000 and not have a guilty conscience/karma etc.  I say no, but that is easy to do in a hypothetical.  I think i even mentioned something similar in a thread way back (didn't see a thread seems familiar must have been the chat).

Back on topic  I would for sure do everything I could do to hide the game and buy it.  Quit and buy it?  The opportunity may never come again, but there would be other game store jobs.

It also gets easier to say I quit for people w/out wife/kids/car/mortgage all those non video game money burning things.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

If I found it at my work, I'd buy it, take it home and piss everyone off by making a youtube vid of me happily opening it, popping it into my Turbografx and playing it. I am dead serious too because sealed games don't make sense to me. I'd play it, like it was meant to be done with.  I just wouldn't be able to keep that shrink wrap on.
END OF LINE.

That's interesting I forgot in my response that it was sealed I wonder if I could open it.  As long as it was already there and I didn't have to swindle a mom or kid out of it, hide it, buy it, trade it to Alex for millions :-) and let him be the one that makes the difficult (not for him) decision to crack the seal.
