Thats the beauty of shooters,  They can not only be played (satisfactorily) in short bursts, but some can even be beaten in about 1/2 hour.  :)

Although a nice speedrun of Strider is also great fun in under 30 minutes.  :)

R-Type is really good for this. I tend to reset if I die anyway, so if I can beat it I can beat it, if not, I try again. Either way it's a quick game.

I like to take my express when I'm out and about. I usually take SFII or the neo pc-e flash cart loaded with games like Aero Blasters, Air Zonk, Alien Crush, bonks games, china warrior, legendary axe, ninja spirit, splatter house, super star soldiers, soldier blade and Jackie Chan. Ooh and R-type.
Turbo fan since 1991 after owning my first system.

OMG!

I forgot to mention that if I am downstairs, I will play DDR!

LOVE THAT!

And it is perfect for filling any void in time.

I never played the first one, but I loved the 2nd one on Pc. It was pretty bad ass.

Lately, my pick-up-and-play games are as follows:

GBA: Wolfenstein 3D

GB: Nemesis, Tetris

SMS: GG Aleste II, Thunder Blade

Famicom: Gradius II, Astro Fang

I don't have any PCE games on here because 1. OBEYing is proving to be quite a chore for a number of reasons at the moment, and 2. I only have one game.  I'll soon have another, though, so perhaps that'll make me more apt to getting my PCE set up.
Play Turbografx.

Usually I'll play Devil's Crush or Alien Crush.

It always seems like if I've got just a few minutes to kill, I rock those games.  However, when I have time to dedicate to one of the Crush games, it's as if they know and they make a b-line for the drain.  ](*,)

Gate of Thunder
Spriggan
Buster Bros.
