well i'm not gonna fight over alf, and vestcoat is right. just once i want to see zeta read a thread and go "hey thats a great idea, i would like to see that". we have a better chance of discovering aliens though. and if we did, zeta would tell us its the zionist, isreali, lesbian, eskimo, conservative lunatics that made it possible.
Yes, if I hate Alf then I must hate everything in existence. That's logical only to people who put Alf on waaaay too high of a pedestal. If you had started a topic about something more wonderful than yet another Hollywood remake of a crappy TV show then maybe my enthusiasm would have been a bit more on the positive side.
When you start the thread about the new Munsters movie I'm going to shit on that one too, just so you know.
I hope that is just because you are sickened by the thought of the remake, and not because you dislike the original. The Munsters holds up very well today. So does Car 54 Where Are You, mentioned only because of the similar cast.
Anyone ever play the Pacman-esque Apple II C+ version of Alf? Loved that game when I was younger.
The Munsters holds up incredibly well today. I think I posted my thoughts on some old thread. I loved it as a kid, but, with all the repeats (every summer), I got sick of it.
Watching now, 25-30 years later, I think I love it more than I did as a kid. I recognize how *few* shows/films can stand the test of time.
Case in point? FLIPPER. I enjoyed watching Flipper as a kid. Now?
Man what is with all the Alf haters on this board? You have no souls!
That said, Alf is probably best left in the 80's.
I can't believe I'm about to say this, but, the desire the watch A.L.F. has been welling up in my heart since this thread started.
I'm going to watch an episode at some point this week (assuming it's on Netflix).
I'm actually smiling. I'm in Boston. On vacation. Watching A.L.F.
