UPDATE: I just got ALF on the Master System. I had seen the extremely negative youtube reviews, but remained skeptical that the game could actually be so terrible. Boy was I wrong. After ten minutes of trying kill bats with a salami, I agree that ALF is absolutely unplayable. I don't know if I've played a worse game... maybe Robodemons.

Alf was something like Married with Children, or if Uncle Ted was the main character of "Bobbies world".

They ruined the Smurfs? I remember their was a lame advertisement for them, almost like chip-monks? Did Gagamel turned out okay?

Just YouTubed this and was a little disappointed it wasn't a parody of West End Girls.

You know what, they should make a movie about a person who is too old to be playing A.L.F. on his Sega Master System. That is the sort of movie that I would love to see.

I bet it is going to be like Hitch Hickers Guide, the film, where all the characters do not even look like the original and the entire plot line was ruined.

I don't see how they can possibly make money on an ALF movie. Gen X'ers are a nostalgic bunch, but they're also cynical and quick to ridicule rightfully stupid BS. I can't imagine there are many adults with fond enough memories of ALF that they would pay to see it with their kids.

Ok, now I believe Regalsin is racist.

While the HG2tG wasn't perfect, it was pretty good IMO. The main issue I've heard people complain about was that they had Mos Def play Ford Prefect. This seems like a "change" in some people's minds because some people never consider an imaginary character as black unless you specifically say he is. By default, in the minds of some people, they are white (see: Jesus). In the books Ford's appearance is barely mentioned and even though HE'S A f*ckING ALIEN FROM OUTER SPACE they assume he's Caucasian.

My biggest problem with the movie was making Oolon CollUphid, who is only breifly mentioned on the first page of the book, into a large and rather gross subplot.

My favorite part was having Tim play Arthur.

Sadly, this is all too true. The same "logic" is applied to gender and sexuality.

BACK ON TOPIC:

Alf, as we now know, was a transgendered Wookie. But that doesn't stop most folks from seeing him as a ...

Maybe Hollywood figures it's been long enough and it'll be a "new" idea for two generations of kids that never saw ALF. I'm sure they have spreadsheets and trend graphs that show what Gen X ppls will pay and not pay for (we are just numbers to the movie makers).

I was never into ALF in the 80's, but loved (PAST TENSE!) A-Team and Knight Rider (along with Airwolf and Street Hawk).
