PC Engine extension cable
« on: August 12, 2012, 10:18:02 AM »
I typed in "pc engine extension cable" but nothing came up so while I was searching for a pc engine extension cable I found one for $18.99: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TURBODUO-PC-ENGINE-CONTROLLER-cable-extension-6ft-1-8m-/170831125900?pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item27c6541d8c

I found another one that looks the same but is $1.84: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10215&cs_id=1021501&p_id=534&seq=1&format=2

Has anyone bought one from Monoprice and do they work, I''m pretty sure they would as PC Engine controller connectors are standard 8-pin mini-DIN adapters.

I checked to see how much shipping would be to Australia, and S&H Cost is $36.38, I guess that's out of the question.

I've had a slight problem with a monoprice cable and an avenue 3 pad that works fine when plugged directly into the system but not into the monoprice cable. Beyond that they're great.

Interesting.

I have used the monoprice cable (well, I don't know if they always source items from the same place) with standard and 3-button PCE controllers. No problems to report, meka.

I bought the monoprice cable years ago, though. I'm assuming they simply have tons of old stock and you'll get the same item.

Whoa!   Thanks a lot for the info in this thread!  Was about to pay significantly more than what monoprice is selling them for.  Order placed!

Where were you going to get it from, the reason I ask is as I'm not getting one from Monoprice because they want to charge me almost $40 to ship a cable and I need one, might get one from retrogamecave but the cable is 12 foot, which I think is a bit too long.

I havn't been posting in here because I feel like an idiot for buying the ebay versions instead of the monoprice ones.  Oh well, live and learn.

From retrogamecave as well.  I dont know why Mono is charging you $40 for shipping to australia.

Heck, if you want me to. I'll gladly buy/ship a set for you.  I can send it priority for only $10-15.
