I'm sure you guys get a lot of these and I've seen quite a few go unanswered. I'm looking to buy either a CoreGrafx I or II with the CD attachment, the Duo-R, or the Duo-RX.

It took awhile for me to get approved on here, as seems to be the case with a lot of people, so I haven't built up any sort of reputation on this forum. All I can offer is my eBay account history, which can be found here:
http://myworld.ebay.com/sm_chronos.
It's an older name that I'm stuck with, but if you send me a message on eBay, I can confirm it's my account.

Anyway, I'm hoping you guys will be nice to me since I honestly have no idea what a reasonable price is for these systems and units. I've read that the CD attachment combined with a normal unit is more expensive these days than buying a Duo. I've also read that the normal Duo has an issue with the location of the capacitors; so, they end up burning out quickly, which is why people recommend getting a Duo-R or Duo-RX. I also know that the SuperGrafx is usually priced a lot higher and the games are very expensive, but if that's the best option I'm given, I wouldn't be opposed to paying.

I've only seen prices on eBay, which I've read are frequently inflated to ridiculous prices. Combined with the high cost of shipping, it makes the total cost very high. So, I'm hoping you guys can either point me to a reasonable auction (I'm sure all of the "steal deals" are taken as soon as noticed) or offer me something.

I've never owned a TurboGrafx or PC-Engine; so, I'm hoping to get started and wanted to include the CDs in the mix. Can anyone help me out? I'm located in the United States; so, that's where the items would need to be shipped.

Posts here or private messages work! If there are topics about pricing that you can point me to, I'd be very grateful!

[EDIT]
Thanks for all of the replies, everyone! I bought a PC-Engine Duo from Keith Courage with quite a few games in tow! So, I'm finished looking for a console for now! Thanks again for all of the support!

Get with fellow member Keith courage.   He normally has units on hand that have been.refurbished.   Lots of us have bought from him, including me.

Get in touch with member here Keith Courage.  I just bought a region-modded DUO-R from him a couple of weeks ago for a fair price, and it works like a charm!  With it, I can play the entire U.S.-released library of TurboGrafx-16 games including the CD games, and I can play the entire Japanese-released library of PC Engine games including the CD games, and with the PC Engine Arcade System Card, it can play the 7-10? Arcade CD games.  It can not play the 7-10? Super Grafx games because it is a completely different system.

Awesome. Good to see another member back up Keith Courage. I've left him a private message; so, I'll twiddle my thumbs, go to work in the morning, and hope to see a reply within the week.

LOL.  I was typing that long paragraph while Bernie posted tthe same thing, just a bit shorter.

Oh, by the way, welcome to this great site!  I do encourage you to study up on the TurboGrafx-16 to find out where you want to start as far as games and maybe start with the U.S.-released HuCard games, because many of them are not too expensive and are quite fun to play too.  I actually have several HuCard games which I'm planning to sell.  If you're interested, then just PM me.

Welcome!
The difference between the Duo-R and RX is mostly cosmetical. Japanese wiki mentions an improved laser pick-up but I can't confirm that's the case.

I think I bought mine from Game of Japan but it ended up quite expensive, so you might be better off buying it from someone here.
CHECKPOINT!

the -R and -RX use the same pickup, but an improved mech was installed in some -RX (not all)

Try Sauce 55 he picked up an RX system from the fellas here and was looking to sell and switch to something else.  Region modded with S video.

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.
