The TG-16 has a good quantity of Halloween-related games
« on: September 24, 2012, 11:27:48 AM »
Yes, for such a short library compared to other systems, it has its fair share of spooky games!

Splatterhouse: A quintessential halloween game if there was ever one, scary atmosphere, lots of weapons and all kinds of gross enemies.

Ghost Manor: I've not played this, but it qualifies.

Night Creatures: A very cool game in my opinion, even if a bit hard to control.

Silent Debuggers: Not a Halloween game per-se, but the sudden appearances of the aliens can make you jump off your seat!

Alien Crush/Devil's Crush: A bit of a stretch, but they have an aliens/demons theme with the music enhancing it quite well.

Legendary Axe 2: Another bit of a stretch but the atmosphere is very dark and depressing.

hmmm... I wish more kids went trick-or-treating ina BONK costume.  Seriously if a kid showed up as bonk, I'd give them, all the candy.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.

You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

Spenoza: The wannabe masculinity just overwhelms.

I always thought the same thing about the Turbo too.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Magical Chase is a game about a witch who flies into a pumpkin themed store to buy upgrades. It has a Halloween theme, so does Cotton.

There's Samurai Ghost, Ninja Spirit, Addams Family, and Kiki Kaikai too for spooky themed games.

If including PCE games, there's way too many to list, especially using the OP's criteria.

Some others include:

Tengai Makyous, particularly Kabukiden.
Neo Nectaris
Makai Prince whatever
3x3 Eyes
Snatcher
Ghouls N Ghosts
Dungeon Explorers
Bonze's Adventure

The fact that the Turbo is orange and black definitely lends it to Halloween associations for me.

1. American culture is not even consider real people. We are considered cattle, consumer people.
Halloween games back then was the closest thing to horror, as the 1980's wained, male fictional
material became weaker, and divided into two groups. Horroe and sci-fi.

Halloween was the only thing where a kid, could be invovled and has nothing to do with gang,
sex, violence, or anything like that. You know the ficitonal Dracula we all know, Darkstalkers basically.

So that is why their are many US halloween games.

...

About Japan. You see magical chase, with the standard witch and pumpkin getup,
but that is RPG with a "Quest" turn-over, themed game.  Horror-story along with splatterhouse are basically mimicing horror themed ideas. where halloween usually comes about. Then  their is
the candle ghost/shrine maiden thing that has to do with their religion, and various spirit fesitvals that are year round (  like Tenchi  ). In fiction Halloween themed fights like Dirty Pair
vs the Terminator, and their are a bunch of Halloween related things.

The same with ghostbusters, could be said, as well.

Ghouls and ghosts is the standard ancient time themed gameplay, but redifined. Don't you just love that theme, of ghouls and ghosts.

Samurai ghost is more or less related to some cultureal and relgious belief. You can see the reused/ rehased map in SG, used in various war games/
...

Back to Turbo, hey what about Purin, the Halloween made exclusively for Jews ?
That is why our Halloween is a fake Halloween. They make their own Halloween and then
resell the same damn costumes. Asides for being fun with ghosts ( yeah we call em ghosts ), and sfutt, Halloween games stand beside

I am just throwing this out their, but Addams Family was almost  as a fun as playing Castlevania, but in that television Addams Family way, while Castle felt alive like an animation
or NES videogame, but in full color
