Neo Metal Fantasy
« on: October 10, 2012, 06:35:08 PM »
has anyone ever played neo metal fantasy?

iam playing it right now.
at the beginning it seemed that this game is going to be tough, but right now after 12 hours it it is too easy.
iam at level 35-40 and all the coming boss battles can be won with "haste" and normal attacks.

but a great game without a doubt.

Yeah, the diffuculty is similar to PSIV, just as the overall style/layout is similar to the Genesis Phantasy Star games. The battle system and animated icons make the battles fun which leads to less battle skipping which leads to a more powerful party. As much as it is put together similar to Phantasy Star games, it really stands out for having such an original style of art and designs. Dark Falz in the original PS has had a huge impact on me that few other games have. NMF is loaded with full screen unique over the top bosses that have the same feel. The variety of places and challenges also helps keep it from getting stale. Even the vehicles are depicted in a unique way. Such a great game. :)

It should be translated into English. How hard is it without knowing Japanese?

There is an english walkthrough with translated shop lists and the game uses Shining style animated icons. If you get stuck, it won't be because of a language barrier.

game is very easy to beat without knowing japanese. but knowing hiragana and katakana will help. ;)
i did beat it today at around 22 hours. overall it was a great experience. the bosses where astonishing, but the game was a little bit to short.

Do you know what you are going to play next? I've always wanted to play Sol Moonarge or Anearth Fantasy. You should check them out, they both have awesome artwork and music
