It gets confusing when there are so many games going for outrageous bids...

I bid my max price on all 3 games, $150...

Was already outbid on all of them, so you can take my name outta the running.

Thats not sleuthing at all..........Some of us are just seeing the bigger picture.

Some of the Ebay ID's that are bidding on DH right now are:

Cars856......thats known already
TheClash603 (419)
Starsoldier1 (837)
solidsnake1987 (1240)
Mary_ann_W (246)

I don't mind letting folks know that mary-ann_w is my wife's eBay user name (that I use far, far more than she does   ), and that yes I did bid on all 3 copies of this game.  I bid $52.00 on the first one, $21.00 on the second one, and $155.00 on the third one (which is near what I'm willing to pay  :(  ).  With two of these three games over $200 already, I doubt that I'll have much of a chance for the other one.  I actually often will bid a low starting bid on a lot of stuff that I don't think that I'll actually win, but I'll throw a low bid out there just for the fun of it.  I've won a few items 'below market price' before, so I keep doing it...

me too, bardoly.  it's great when you win one! I bid on a couple myself @ 50.00, although i figured i'd be quickly outbid.  And i never look into ebay names there is so little out there that we all must turn to ebay in many cases, and I know the same people are bidding on the games with me, both from the forum and re-sellers.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.

You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

How do you know who is bidding on an item by username?  I thought eBay changed their policy so that the bidders remain anonymous and the only way now to see who won is if they leave feedback after the auction.

Wow.  It's sure not 1994 anymore.  f*ck.  It's so funny these were $10 games back then.  That's what my DEII cost.  New.  There were plenty to go around as well.

You can see who is bidding if you are the seller.

The first step is to look at who received feedback for completed auctions.  Once you have that info, you can start to piece the rest together using feedback scores and the "code" that eBay uses for each username.

Hmm, so anything I bid on will have the same "anonymous" code, like a***z, and that codename never changes?  Well that's hardly anonymous now is it?

Maybe this is dsmking's other copy?   Another one from IL.

From the auction:
Quote from: je5867
Back cover of manual had a fold in it which has been straightened but you can tell from a glare that it was folded at one time.  honestly its not noticable unless your an anal retentive collector.  Disc is great shape with no scratches.  I am starting the bid out and what I paid 10 years ago - 10.00.

I have noticed the games for sale have shill bidding going on and if anyone attempts it in my auction I will cancel the auction and take the game the garbage can.  play games with someone elses auctions.  I will prefer to let the auction take its course.

Bravo.

That appears to be the case - mine is always "-***s"

Man, I'd love to find me a copy for a fair price, but I can't compete with the shills and flim-flam artists.  I do like that je5867's listing though.
