Shame on us! Not one proper thread (the one about the birthday bash in Europe doesn't count
)to wish our little white powerhouse a happy 25th. So, in celebration let's post our
earliest memories of either hearing about the PC Engine, or from those lucky enough to get one on Halloween Day 1987 (or there abouts).
My memories are probably common among many of us. EGM introduced me and I was immediately mesmerized. The graphics were not only more colorful, but they had a charm to them that even EGM's blurry photos couldn't mask. Back then when I thought of the word "PC Engine" I thought things that were exotic, powerful, and wholly Japanese. Of course, there was no way I was ever getting one back then so the good 'ol PC Engine remained a mystery to me until I picked up a Turbografx CD plus converter. I officially joined the PCE ranks with a Duo-R a year or so back.
Edit: Oops...Sunteam's thread counts. Oh well. Double the fun!
I was mentally looking for key words like "Happy" and "Birthday" and "25th!" ....OBEY DAY completely slipped through my brain's filter hee hee
