Kickstarter - Service Games: The Rise and Fall of Sega
« on: November 07, 2012, 12:03:10 PM »
Majors turned me on to this - it's a re-write/re-edit and re-packaging of an older Sega history book that covers the company's history in-depth. Probably the most concise history of Sega out there.

It's got about a week and a half left and is stalled out at 55% - the milestones are pretty reasonable. There's lots of relatively cheap milestones that will land you a physical book or an e-copy.

Would hate to see this one not get funded - would also be awesome to see a PC-Engine version of this!

Let's make a Kickstarter to donate to Sega to release a new Sega console.

 Glorious!

Not sure if the market needs another console, but if it's from Sega and they do it right, bring it on!
CHECKPOINT!

I'm happy with Sega making money with cross platform releases, at least they're profitable now being a software publisher! How many time do you want to Sega fail? SMS, Sega CD, Game Gear, Pico, Saturn and DC is enough for me.

("Fail" meaning not being #1)

Fully agree. Even though their franchises are being mercilessly raped by third party developers. I just don't think Sega has enough in the tank to do another console.

Sadly Sega's been long gone since the death of the Dreamcast.  Everything started getting outsourced.  I don't know if there is anymore Sega "in house" development anymore.

Yu Suzuki leaving Sega was the last straw - to me he was the last connection to what made Sega unique.

I want another Saturn or Dreamcast - a 'fan favorite' console that sells like shit. That's what I want!
