I was amused, but he commits the sin of 'a game that can't be played is better than the garbage that follows', which is not the case.

An excellent review of Flashback: The Quest for Identity on the Genesis.

I still remember watching the cinema scenes in this game. But, I don't think I played more than 50-60%

It's totally worth a playthrough as long as you are playing the Genesis version. The SNES version runs slower due to its slower processor, and the music on the Genesis fits the game perfectly with atmosphere oozing out of every pore. I am really looking forward to seeing if the Jag version is any improved over the Genesis port, or if it is just a "port" of the Genesis version as the Jag has a 68000 processor along with its two 32-Bit processors. The 68000 in the Jag isn't normally used for graphics, but some people say that Flashback on the Jag used the 68000 anyway without taking advantage of the Jaguar's improved graphics and sound capabilities.

If you're curious the best version of Flashback is the FM-Towns version.

FM-Towns—I'm curious about FM-Towns. I've wanted to play Splatterhouse port for some time... but I know I'll probably never own a Marty.

CIB Towns games on ebay are $$$.  But you can often get games without the giant outer boxes for very cheap.  And getting a proper Towns setup is a much better use of one's money then a Jaguar imo. :)

Not too bad ;)

The concept is great (I wonder if earning an extra point for being the first to have-a-go at a game truly "levels" the playing field, but I won't gripe about it :) ), the production values are there (e.g., the split screen is nicely done), and the dorky white kids are there as icing on the cake.

Sure, there were a few rough moments, but overall, I enjoyed watching this.

Swimmer was a great first choice, of course.

Please tell me you are one of the three contestants featured.

Thanks for the praise. I am not on this episode of the show. I live about 2 hours away from Tuscon. But me and my friends go up there often for street fighter tournaments. So next time we do I will try and be a part of this and let u guys know.

Yeah, that was pretty grating.
