Wholesale ebay lots
« on: November 11, 2012, 03:43:26 PM »
you ever see those 100+ game lots that start at about 100 bucks and take 2-4 months to ship? anyone ever pick one of these up? i'm curious as to if it would be worth it or not, it's hard to identify a lot of the games since i can't read the titles.

anyone with experience please let me know what the ratio of crap to decent playable games was

a local game shop picked up some psx, fami and sfc lots like that. Only a few good games and everything else is just crap that nobody wants like mahjong, derby games and rpgs. I guess if it's cheap enough you can make it worth it but it's hard to get rid of stuff like that

On the whole they're not really worth it.

You get a lot of really crappy sports/puzzle/RPG games that you will never play and are hard to sell.

Depending on the seller, a lot of doubles. It's not unlikely to receive 10-30 doubles.

In the case of CD based/boxed games, you often receive a lot of damaged cases, or empty cases without cart/discs or manuals etc.

The games are filthy! It takes a long time to clean 100+ games. :)

A friend of mine recently picked up a bulk Famicom lot of 100 games. In it there were 15 doubles, 55 worthless crappy titles and 30 average inexpensive games that he added to his collection. He ended up selling some of his doubles for $2 a pop and recouped most of his initial outlay, but it was a big hassle to end up with 30 generic, common games.

If you have a very small collection you can do OK since there are usually a few decent games in there. If you have 100 good PCE games already then this is probably just going to give you doubles of your decent stuff and a whole lot of crapola.

If there is a specific auction you are thinking of just post a link to it. Most members here can ID the games even if they don't actually read Japanese exactly. We can tell you what the standout good games are. A lot of times they throw Bomberman 94 in there to sweeten the pot, for example.

appreciate the responses guys! seems it would be better for me to just pick em out one at a time. i had also been eyeing some saturn wholesale auctions, but i'm figuring it would be the same deal.

appreciate you guys!
