Tennokoe Bank Questions or Alternatives
« on: November 26, 2012, 03:35:02 AM »
I own a Turbo Duo, and working on getting a Turbo Express soon. I saw and love the idea of the Tennokoe Bank (a device I could use to backup and transfer my saved games between systems).

My only concern, which I'll assume to be true, is since the Tennokoe Bank is a Japan device, will it not work on my USA systems? will I need to get a adapter/converter? or will it work natively in my systems?

Are there any USA alternatives to the Tennokoe Bank device?

Also, I think I saw that the Tennokoe Bank uses a battery to power the memory to save the games, anyone know or can link me to a "how-to" on replacing the battery?

Thanks everyone!!

You need a region mod or a converter to use the tennokoe bank with your US systems but other then that its fully useable with the save files from US games

The Tennokoe Bank only saves or swaps banks (your entire TurboDuo's backup files) of saves. You can put together custom groups of saves, but it takes a little work.

Thanks for the tip, and search results. I'm no stranger to forums and actually preformed a search prior to my post here. However all of the results I've found as well as the ones posted have nothing to do with my original questions, they do talk about the Tennokoe Bank, but not what I was asking. Hence, why I started a new forum

Those results pretty much just ask for some trouble shooting with errors or ask how the device works.

I know how the device works, I was just asking if it would would on a non-region moded system (as there is at least 1 Import game that will work on a US console without the need of a mod) as well as I was asking is there a USA version of this device. neither of those questions were asked in any result I found.

But thanks for the responses ^-^ my search just still goes on, well.... at least the question if theres a USA substitute, one post here states it would not work on a non-modded console.

It won't work on an unmodified turbo console. You could region mod your duo (recommended), buy an overpriced region converter, or get a chopsado (cheapest solution but not really as flexible).

I'm curious, what jpn hucard works on USA turbos without a mod? Do any turbo chips work on pce without a mod? First I've heard of such a thing... Seems very strange indeed!

Thanks for the update, I was thinking about the chopsado... hmm..

I think I read it wrong, but this is what I was referring too. according to : http://nfggames.com/games/pce/

"Secret 43:
The US HuCard game KLAX is the only US HuCard that doesn't check the region, so it can be played on a Japanese console with only an adaptor. No internal modifications required. "
