I'm still waiting on the new 5 axis mill to show up here at work so I can make the molds.

This is awesome news, and a great relief.

I would like to buy Five Thousand of your American OEM Style HuCard Cases (after they become available) after I start getting a good return on my Nintendo and Sega Cases.
That'll probably be in late summer, or autumn.
I'll contact you through this forum, or your website (once it's up) when I have the $.

As for the thin lids, it doesn't matter to me if you include them or not, but they would, at the very least, help protect the clear clip during shipping,
and make the trays easier to bundle together.
Although, it'll probably wind up being a lot cheaper to get some paperboard/cardstock boxes made for them.
It doesn't have to be very thick or rigid (Bubble Wrap and/or Peanuts should provide adequate protection against compression);
it mostly needs to protect against Sideways/Twisting Motions from whatever else is in the shipping box with it.

If you need help raising funds, and don't want to manage every aspect of that yourself, you should check out CrowdTilt.
CrowdTilt allows you to use it for pre-orders.
Kickstarter has a very restrictive "Rewards" system, you can't use it to do pre-orders.

If you haven't already, you might want to announce your HuCard Cases, and Website's URL, over at TheCoverProject.net when you are ready to start Crowdfunding, and/or ready to start selling them.

EDITED TO ADD:
If you'd like, I can add links that point to your online store, on the pages, on my website, where I have placeholders for the HuCard Trays.

I'm down to order a bunch of these when they become available. That's some excellent work there and a big service to the community.

I'm glad to see your interest. I'm going to try and produce the cases myself depending on how my mold making works out and if that does not work the way I want it I have several quotes both domestic and foreign that I can fall back on.  I have considered taking preorders for the project but at this point I don't really feel comfortable taking money.  I have never had a mold of this complexity produced before and the last thing I want is to be sitting on peoples money for months and months while I work out the details.

This community is very forgiving on that.  =]

Jello slug,

Nice work!

I would definitely be interested in your cases when they are available for sale.

This thread is a complete tease.
I'm busy playing pinball, but I still drop by to visit.

There's several ways he can go about getting the HuCARD Trays and the Arm mass produced.
Whatever way he chooses, it's gonna take a while, because he's going to need to use two separate molds, unless he wants the Tray and Arm to be made of the Same Material (Polystyrene or Polypropylene).

Polystyrene is rather expensive.
He might decide to make the tray out of Near-Black Polypropylene, then use Clear Polystyrene for the Arm only.

My guess is that most of the time this is taking, is due mostly to material selection/testing,
(there's like a bazillion different materials to choose from)
and he's taking his time, to make sure he gets both the Designs and the Colors just right.

I know it sees like vaporware at this point but the new mill is here and I am still working on it.

We might have to buy a 3d printer and make our own.
