Misfit-Toys-and-Games Beware of this eBay seller
« on: November 26, 2012, 12:49:47 PM »
This guy here  http://myworld.ebay.com/misfit-toys-and-games/&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2754 .  I have bought from his store, three times, and two of those times items were not as described.  First one was a sealed Magical Dino Tour for the TG16.  Item had been water damaged, box was in bad condition and the manual was water damaged.  Had  trouble getting a partial refund, but he finally agreed to it.  Of course I was punished by him not leaving feedback. Moving on, I bought a Sega setup couple weeks ago.  It was a model 1 unit, that was described as complete and working with games.  Once I got it, its bad news from the getgo.

1.  The consoles were filthy, and I do mean filthy..  Not dusty, not a little dirty, but nasty filthy.  I had to take the Genny apart to clean it properly, and get all the dirt, grime, and animal hair out of it.

2.  One of the CD games were missing from its case.  I guess he didnt bother to see if it was actually in there.  I dunno

3.  The final straw, the CD unit came with a TG16 power supply, so it will not work.  Since it was listed as working, Im not sure if he actually tested it and shipped the wrong power brick, or if he lied.  Not sure, but either way a big letdown for me.

I of course contacted him, no response, so I opened a case with eBay.  Oh, now we get a response in which he says he wishes I would have waited before opening a case..  hmm...  Anyway, moving forward.  I let him know of the issues, he said he would get the power brick out ASAP, then asks what power supply I need.  I tell him, and thats the last I heard.  All emails since then have been ignored or not responded to, so when eBay contacted me tonight asking how things were going, I went ahead and escalated the case.  Im posting this here, because he has a lot of gaming stuff, that many of us here would buy.  Just be wary of this seller, and expect things to be not as described.  I wouldnt suggest buying there though as he clearly does not inspect things before shipping, nor does he stand by his sales.  Its up to the bay what happens at this point.

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.

Thanks I take your word on stuff like this as I've dealt with you many times and I know what condition you like your games to be in.  Some of those issues are really disappointing especially when sellers are deceitful in order to maximize their profits.

Yeah, and conveniently, after the case was escalated I get a response.  We are talking literally minutes here, he responded.  Ignored all messages asking him if he has had the time to ship yet, and checking in.  So, now he is mad that "Im in a big rush", his words not mine, and told me to ship it back and he would refund me.  Anyway, yeah.  I would steer clear of this one.

Tell him you're going to ship it back (use a private email account or minutemail.com), then continue the claim with eBay/PayPal.  He probably won't even notice that you don't call off the claim.  I wouldn't ship the damn thing back, not after him lying, and after you cleaning the unit for him.  Not to mention you're not getting any money back for your time.  I know it sounds shitty, but I can't stand shitty sellers so whenever I can screw them back I do it x2.

Nah fifty.  That would make me just as guilty.  If I get refunded, I'll ship it back.

Ebay just emailed me to let me know they are paying return shipping. Gonna print the postage and ship this back.  The seller asked me to send it as received...  hmmm..  I guess I should let my dog chew on it, shit on it, sleep with it... ect...

Yeah usually to get a refund you have to prove you shipped it back, so Fiftys idea wouldn't have worked anyway. Nice they are covering return shipping for you on this. Its been a little while since I had to handle a actual return to someone, but if they make that a permanent feature now for returns on "item not as described" claims that would be nice.

I'm shocked eBay is paying return shipping on it.  I wonder if a percentage comes from the seller?

Yeah, you're right Bernie.  Being an a$$hole to scum is just as bad as being the scum.  I'd still wipe some ass sweat on it though.  Maybe the guy will get pink eye at the very least.

So sad, but so true. He's benefitting from this transaction by getting back a console in much better condition.

Anyway... throw some animal hairs and nose grease on the Genesis, just in case he complains.

I was just looking at some of his items today and was going to purchase something.  I will avoid him now.  Life's too short to deal with idiots.

Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, your best bet is to avoid him.  He doesnt appear to know much about his items, and certainly does not check conditions before shipping.  If he does check the item, he leave a lot out of the description.
