Yeah, two hours straight north by car...which puts it pretty far away from Chicago.

3 from the south side\suburbs, but yeah.  Aside from the tollways, the drive isn't bad so moving it Chicago would be silly (and more expensive!).  Maybe living in South Dakota has screwed up my perception of drive times or something.

"Midwest" isn't about longitude. Obviously you understand this since you are excluding Ohio, for some reason, but not the Great Lakes region even though Ohio is bordered by Lake Erie.

I'm just being a contrary corey like all flatlanders are prone to being.  8)

Southern Ohio is pretty terrible, I have to admit (Cincinnati aside)

Don't even get me started about that damned Gurnsey County.  I hate that place.  There has never been a time I have driven through there on I-70 without the goddamned place flooding like it was biblical times all over again.  Seriously, screw that place (and Cincinnati too, half demolished Riverfront was a million times better than Great American.)

I did!  Now I have to figure out what games I actually want for it... I didn't really think this through too carefully. :)

Aw man, I was really tempted to get the Fantasy Zone maze game based on the box alone... But I passed on it because I didn't want a completely blind buy.  Now I kinda regret it.

Got to meet- Nectarsis and Mobius.  Got to hang out a bit with Keranu and torgo.  Sold tons of gaming goodness next to a former writer from VG&CE from 1989-1997!  THAT WAS AWESOME!!  Heard some awesome stories!  Also it was good to chat for a bit with TJ and Die Hard Gamer!

Thanks for the memories!!  Will definately have a booth again NEXT YEAR!!!

Had a fun time this year and got to meet Nectarsis and Mobius, both great people, as well as the MGC usuals. Turbo Fest II pretty much went the same as last year and we got a lot of new comers coming and stopping by the booth to play some games, including the specially made Turbo Pong, thanks to Bonknuts!  I'll try to have a full write up with pictures on my site soon, as usual.

Stuff I bought:

game.com system complete in box and instructions, including Lights Out, HENRY (!), and Indy 500. - $25
Fighters Megamix (game.com) - $4
A ballsy SNES replica controller that sold with the original box design and even has the fricken Nintendo logo on it - $5
Hana Taka Daka (PC Engine) - $30 (thanks goes to Mad Gear for this one!)
Panic Bomber (PC Engine Super CD-ROM2) - $10/20? (thanks goes to turboStar!)
Air Zonk (Turbo Grafx 16) - $20 (thanks goes to turboStar!)
Final Soldier (PC Engine) - $10 (brand new)
Ka Ge Ki (Genesis) $5/10? (thanks goes to turboStar!)
The Great Circus Mystery Starring Mickey Mouse (Genesis) - $5/10? (thanks goes to turboStar!)
Dungeon Explorer (Sega CD) - $10 (thanks goes to turboStar!)

Oh and I also got a signed King of Kong flier by Walter Day! Walter is a really, really nice guy.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).
