There are three "Duomozov Bros." that write for the site. The most prolific writer, IVANEC, is shaded in yellow.  Ai Cho Alexei is red. And  Duomitri is green.

Thanks, Mathius!  That's good info. :D

Ah, I didn't notice the green at first. Thanks for the info. :) I always knew of the multiple writers, but I never realized that they were color-coded.

Black Hole Assault review up today.

I neither have this game nor have I played it, but being that this review is rather underwhelming, I don't feel very inspired to try to add this fighting game to my library any time soon.

This game sucks. I have the Sega CD and PCE version...not because they are good, but because I was curious to compare them (little did I realize how utterly crappy the game would be).

ANYWAY, I have a plan to get my money's worth from this trash. To be continued.

NOTE: I haven't read the Duomazov review, but I'm surprised it wasn't SCATHING. I'll have to read it.

UPDATE: OK, I just read the review. BANAL is the adjective that should have been used at some point: Black Hole Assault = Banal. I know Cuz Ziggy tried to find some amusement in the cinema scenes...but, as far as I am concerned, the only fun I will be able to squeeze out of this game is when I make a detailed comparison of it to a porn film (with the same title).

This game is Fairly boring and slowwwwwwwwwwww.  I don't hate it as a game, It is just so simple to the point of being not a game.  It is worth probably 1 playthrough and It's supper cheap, so I guess it's not pointless.  Did  I mention this game controls are very slow?  It feels like your controlling an old timey robot.  That being said the prono would be more entertaining.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.

You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

Spenoza: The wannabe masculinity just overwhelms.

I have the Black Hole Assault cinema scenes loaded on my iPod.  True story!

Not a good game by any stretch, but it's impressive in one notable way.  The game's predecessor (Heavy Nova) was so overwhelmingly terrible that it shows a lot of heart and effort on Micronet's part that they would create a sequel that shores up the basics and is fundamentally playable.  I mean, they went from a game where rockets fly through opponents and jumping = invincibility, to a game where the collision detection actually works.  That's impressive!

Do any of the Brothers have a PP?

It's in need of moar review by expert judges.

Maybe we could petition the game publisher to send them a free copy for the free advertising?

Ha! You know that I love these little nooks and crannies in video game lore. This brings a smile to my face.

ALSO: I am pretty certain that I purchased a boxed Black Hole Assault from you. Ha! I was buying some "fabulously flawed" games (Earnest Evans) from you for some reason. I'm not sure* if I lost a bet or was on amphetamines, but I put good money in your pocket.

* Nah, I was curious about comparing different versions of BHA and EE. I had only played the cartridge EE and I wanted to compare it to the CD version.

Be warned: the last person who falsely claimed Earnest Evans to be "flawed" didn't live to say that ever again!

Not a PC Engine game review, but still an interesting read:  NES Games That Died With Honor   :-({|=

I was waiting for them to put The Legend of Zelda - slain by Neutopia, but I guess that it's such common knowledge that they decided not to put it in the article.   :-"

Moto roader MC review up recently.

Not having played this game yet, the review doesn't leave me looking to try it out any time soon.   :|

Has anyone else played it who has something good to say about this game?

For all I know, one of them bought it (except Nat, who has been MIA for awhile still!)

How is Nat.
