...and previous owner spray painted sliver...
If you haven't cleaned it up, TAKE A PICTURE!
I should have taken a picture it was in horrible condition the silver paint was caked on and who ever painted did even tape off the buttons and D-pad just soaked them in paint too. attempted to use brake fluid (good for removing paint from plastic) still didn't get it all off so I guess if I don't find a replacement shell my friend is going to have a permanently sealed shiny TG16 pad...I will have to sand it down I might as well buff it to a shine would look better than sanding swirls
Dear Lord, that poor controller has been unspeakably violated.
oh and I forgot to mention the guy told me that the controller is buggy when you first plug it in and has to warm up for it to work properly, I'm kinda new to the Pc Engine stuff, but I've been modding controllers pcb's into arcade sticks for many year and I've never heard of any needing to warm up to work properly. Unfortunately I tore the TG16 apart to do an S-video mod and didn't test the controller. but when I open into the controller to remove the silver crap I notice a capacitor was super loose I suspect that may be the issue.
...but yeah the controller has totally been violated, I was surprised the rubber button inlays were still in decent shape
