FOUND: Those NEW table top machines... Fogger & Space Invaders
« on: December 11, 2012, 04:52:19 AM »
I FOUND THEM :)...

Hey guys, i am looking for these NEW Excalibur’s Desktop Arcade games for a buddy of mine for his kids.

Does anyone have and want to sell? or know where he can find them? they ran about $20 $25 new in box and even without the box he would be happy with.
He wants to stay away from ebay and kijiji as gougers are in full force and him and i have been looking around locally.

Thanks guys, any help would be great

PS: if anyone has an original retro frogger one for a decent price that be cool as well as you cant beat the original.
Just thought i would ask.

I have a galaxian but it's old and made by coleco. Are those new like brand new remakes?

That is so not true. You can beat its pants off. As much as people like to collect those things, the old Coleco games were zero fun. I'd rather play the Tiger LCD version of Panzer Dragoon (yes, this exists). I'd rather play Double Dragon on 2600.

I'm old enough to remember when those little machines were new. They sucked then and they suck now. Pac Man is still facing the wrong way. Those old machines had about as much to do with the games they were based on as the similarly licensed Happy Meal toys and moon boots. No amount of nostalgia or hording urges will ever change that. My "flow" is as solid as my hatred for stuff that sucks. Just more crap to add to the crap pile.

I'm not taking about the remakes though. I have no knowledge of those. They simply have to be more fun though. The originals were a less expensive alternative to a 2600 with even lesser graphics and less fun.

Blip was pretty fun. The Head to Head baseball was fun. Unplayable barely recognizable Donkey Kong...not fun.

My friend, who I eventually gave my NES (OK, I "sold" it for a nominal fee...a pizza and a bottle of Coke) was rocking the Atari 2600 until the very end. His parents bought him Double Dragon--new--and we played it. SO SAD. We would go back to Berzerk and Joust...but Double Dragon 2600 was just sad.

Check out the 2600 version of Rampage. It's about the same quality. Amazingly un-fun.

Meh, you reminded me of an old bad memory. I had a Midway Galaga machine like that as a wee little lad, my dad must've bought it for me, but one day my mom grabbed and threw it across the living room to destroy it because evidently I was playing it too much... =\ Yeap, same mom that did this too when I won a TG-16 in a 1990 contest... ;) Heh.
